On September 2nd, British author J.K. Rowling thrilled many "Harry Potter" fans by revealing the fate of Harry's son.

According to Rowling, young James Severus Potter was also chosen for Gryffindor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, just like his father.

On Twitter, Rowling wrote: "I'm in Edinburgh, so could someone at King's Cross station please wish James S. Potter good luck for me? He starts Hogwarts today."

According to the author of the seven "Harry Potter" books, James S. was born in 2004 and was old enough to attend Hogwarts.

In her second tweet, she shared: "I just heard that James S. Potter has been chosen for Gryffindor. This shouldn't surprise anyone."

Immediately after the two tweets were posted, thousands of Twitter users shared their feelings with Rowling. Most expressed nostalgia and longing, as they had grown up with the characters in Rowling's world through her books and films.

The "Harry Potter" book series officially ended in 2007 and remains a publishing phenomenon to this day, with over 450 million copies sold worldwide. This hugely popular series has also been adapted into films and achieved tremendous success, grossing over seven billion USD at the box office.

J.K. Rowling continues to excite fans with updates on the fate of her characters via the Pottermore website. By the end of last year, J.K. Rowling had published 12 stories set in the "Harry Potter" universe on Pottermore.
