Writer Son Tung - author of 'Blue Lotus' has passed away
(Baonghean.vn) - Poet Lang Hong Quang (Nghe An Literature and Arts Association) said: Writer Son Tung - author of the famous novel "Blue Lotus" passed away at 11:05 p.m. on July 22, 2021 at his home (Van Chuong Alley, Kham Thien Street, Hanoi City), at the age of 93.
Writer Son Tung, real name Bui Son Tung, was born on August 8, 1928 in Hoa Luy village, Dien Kim commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province. He joined the revolutionary movement in 1944 (70 years of party membership). At the end of 1967, he was sent to the Southern battlefield to found the Southern Youth Newspaper. On April 15, 1971, he was seriously wounded (grade 1/4) on the Southeast battlefield and had to go to the North for treatment.
He also worked for Nong Nghiep and Tien Phong newspapers... He is a member of the Vietnam Writers Association; was awarded the title of Labor Hero by the State in 2011.
