Muay Thai champion knocked unconscious by 'best kick of the year'

Russian boxer Kazbek Kabulov caused a surprise when he defeated famous opponent Singdam Kiatmuu9 in the match on September 12.

In the main match of the YOKKAO 25 martial arts event held on September 12 in Hong Kong, Russian boxer Kazbek Kabulov defeated famous boxer Singdam Kiatmuu9 with a beautiful spinning back kick.

The fight started with a winning punch from Kabulov. Immediately after, Singdam counterattacked with powerful kicks typical of Muay Thai. The 33-year-old continued to press and showed his superior strength.

Singdam was dominant in the match but lost focus for a moment, causing him to pay the price. With about a minute left in the first round, Kabulov unexpectedly launched a precise back kick that completely knocked his opponent unconscious. Bleacher Report rated Kabulov's knockout as worthy of being nominated for "the best knockout of the year".

Kabulov's spinning back kick reminded viewers of the left hook that helped Edson Barboza win the title of best knockout in UFC in 2012.

Singdam Kiatmuu9 was born on January 1, 1984 in Isan City, Thailand. To date, this boxer has fought a total of 335 times with 269 wins, 64 losses and 2 draws. According to statistics from CombatPress, Kabulov is the first foreign boxer to knock out Singdam. The loss also ended the Thai boxer's streak of 9 consecutive wins.

Singdam was a national Muay Thai champion in three weight classes and was voted Thailand's best fighter in 2003.

Currently, Singdam is competing for the YOKKAO martial arts tournament and training at the tournament's training center located in Bangkok.
