Musician Phu Quang: There were times when I didn't invite Thanh Lam to sing because I was afraid her 'craziness' would be hard to control.

As scheduled, every autumn, musician Phu Quang performs music nights. This year, titled "For the late autumn days", he has two nights on November 10 and 11 at the Hanoi Opera House to reunite with the audience. The music night features Thanh Lam, Tan Minh, My Hanh, Minh Chuyen, Minh Thu, Duc Tuan, artists Bui Cong Duy - Trinh Huong, and saxophone Tran Manh Tuan.

Phu Quang is a rare musician who does the most live shows in Hanoi today and every time he gets asked "are there any new songs?" and Phu Quang still only repeats the old refrain "there are no new or old songs, only good or bad songs". Phu Quang confided that his goal is to satisfy the audience, not to do anything for fun or sing for fun.

Phu Quang admits that he has a sensitivity to seeing gems even when they are still rough stones. "When I was young, when Thanh Lam and Hong Nhung first came to Ho Chi Minh City to sing, many people sat below whispering about what these two girls were singing. I heard them and immediately told them to wait, listen to them sing and then talk. And indeed, after listening to both of them sing, no one could say anything" - Phu Quang said.

According to musician Phu Quang, singer Thanh Lam has a very energetic voice, but there were times when he did not invite her to sing because he was afraid of her "craziness" that was difficult to control. The author of "Nostalgia" jokingly said that Thanh Lam's average temperature was always 41 degrees Celsius while a normal person's temperature was only 37.

''There was a time when I told Thanh Lam that people are only allowed to be crazy to 3 or 4, but she was crazy to 10, so I was very scared. Before my frank comments, Thanh Lam listened and realized. It was clear that she was increasingly able to control her singing emotions to conquer listeners," Phu Quang said.

Besides Thanh Lam, there are many female singers who have had the opportunity to collaborate with musician Phu Quang, but there is one male singer who he "faithfully" invites to appear in every show, and that is Tan Minh. When asked why Phu Quang has special feelings for Tan Minh, he smiled gently and calmly said: "Because Tan Minh has never sung my songs incorrectly."
