Initial assessment of the cause of death of a young man in Nghe An who went bee hunting
(Baonghean.vn) - Autopsy results showed that the victim died from a broken neck. The cause may have been a fall from a tree while searching for honey.
On the afternoon of September 22, the leader of the People's Committee of Nghia Loi Commune (Nghia Dan District) said that after completing the autopsy, the police handed over the body of Vi Van Nghia (24 years old) to his family for burial. "Because the location where the body was found is in Nhu Thanh District, the case is under the investigation jurisdiction of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police," said the commune leader.
A source said that the victim's body was found in an acacia forest, and the motorbike was found about 100 meters away. Next to it was a backpack containing many of the young man's belongings. "During the bee hunting trip, Nghia brought many items, including an expensive phone, but they were all found right next to the body. Nothing was missing," the source said.

At the scene, next to the body was an acacia tree that had just broken off at the top, more than 5 meters above the ground. The autopsy results showed that the victim had a broken neck bone, broken ribs... Initially, the police determined that the victim fell from the tree while searching for honey. "Initial assessment of the incident showed no signs of crime. The victim died on the spot after falling from a height," said the source.
Before that, on the morning of September 14, as usual, Nghia brought his tools and rode his motorbike into the forest to hunt for bees. When he did not return home that evening, the family called his phone many times but it only rang and no one answered. "The phone kept ringing for the next 2 days, and by the evening of September 16, we could no longer contact him," said Nghia's mother, Ms. Lo Thi Them.
Upon receiving the news, hundreds of people, including authorities and local residents, cordoned off and searched the entire 1,000-hectare forest for over a week but still found no trace. Meanwhile, for three consecutive days after Nghia went missing, the area had heavy rain, making the search very difficult.

According to the leader of Nghia Loi commune, Mr. Vi Van Nghia is a professional forester. His main job is to go into the forest to hunt bees, especially the Khoai bee. To hunt bees, Nghia buys many professional items such as binoculars..., when going into the forest he brings along an expensive phone. Khoai bees are considered the "king" of honey bees, because not only do they have large nests and a lot of honey, but the honey of this species of bee is also considered the most delicious and nutritious. Khoai bees often build nests high up in the sky, some of which are up to 70 meters high. This species of bee often lives deep in the forest and collects pollen very far away.
