Land registration office employee arrested for receiving bribe of more than 2 billion VND
Do Minh Hieu, an employee of the Land Registration Office, was arrested for accepting a bribe of more than VND2 billion to quickly process procedures for issuing and exchanging land use right certificates.
On November 28, Gia Lai Provincial Police announced that they had initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and detained Do Minh Hieu (34 years old, residing in Pleiku City, Gia Lai) for 4 months for the act of "Receiving bribes".
Initial information, from 2020 to 2022, Do Minh Hieu - an employee of the Land Registration Office of Gia Lai province took advantage of his position to receive bribes from hundreds of people to prepare documents and quickly issue red books.
After receiving the complaint, the authorities investigated and collected evidence. On November 13, Gia Lai Provincial Police temporarily detained Hieu and urgently searched his workplace (address 236 Pham Van Dong, Thong Nhat Ward, Pleiku City).
Initially, the investigation agency determined that the amount of money Hieu received in bribes was more than 2 billion VND.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate and expand the case.
