Multiplying the core values of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics and style
President Ho Chi Minh's character and revolutionary life are the most vivid proof for the entire Party, people and army to learn and follow him.
As he wrote: “The masses only love those who are qualified and moral. To guide the people, we must set an example for them to follow.” The third and final article in the series on implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo mentions solutions to continue promoting the implementation of the Directive with the title: “Promoting the core values, ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh.”

President Ho Chi Minh believed that setting an example must first of all be an example in all tasks, from small to large, and be demonstrated regularly and in all aspects. In particular, cadres and party members must always uphold the principle of “Putting public affairs first”, which means putting public affairs above and before private affairs, knowing how to sacrifice personal interests for the interests of the Fatherland, the people and the Party.
Throughout his life of revolutionary activities, sacrificing personal interests and dedicating himself to the people and the country, Uncle Ho was always a shining example and exemplary model. Therefore, according to Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Minh Truong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Institute and Party Leaders (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics), each of Uncle Ho's words had great appeal and persuasion. That was the decisive factor for the success of the revolution.
“Following the example of Ho Chi Minh, a person with the highest leadership position, demonstrates the example of a revolutionary leader. Our cadres during the resistance war against France and the US became exemplary cadres. At that time, when cadres spoke, the people believed because party members went first, the country followed. Therefore, the people placed their complete trust in cadres. Cadres said what they did. That was the driving force, the strength that created the source of victory in the two resistance wars against the French invaders and the US imperialists,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Truong.

At any time, any stage of the country, the good and noble ideological, moral and style values of President Ho Chi Minh are always seriously practiced and multiplied by examples, simple but meaningful actions, with far-reaching influence. That is the power of setting an example, of the spirit of "practice goes hand in hand with words".
Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Tran Van Binh, former Director of the Institute of Culture and Development, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, said that that strength and spirit are great lessons in building and developing the country today, when our Party and State are making efforts to prevent and combat the degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" of cadres and party members.
“Everywhere, the role of the leader is extremely important, from the family to society. If the leader of the family and society is exemplary, then the children in the family as well as the people in society will trust and follow. Here, I want to say that the power of influence of the leader is very important. Never think that using power to force everyone to obey is the best solution.”- People's Teacher Tran Van Binh shared.

Fighting degradation, self-evolution, and self-transformation among cadres and party members is not just empty talk or slogans, but must be done through practical actions. Resolutions, Regulations, and Statutes on controlling power; on exemplary responsibility; on disciplinary action against erring party members; on cadre work and cadre evaluation are important solutions to improve the quality of party members and cadres, and to clean up the Party ranks.
From the local practice when implementing Directive 05, the Party's regulations on cadre work and the responsibility to set an example in studying and following Uncle Ho, Mr. Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee, said: "Through regular supervision and urging at the grassroots level, we have a more objective and sincere assessment of the Party committees and authorities at the grassroots level, that is from top to bottom. As for looking up from the grassroots level, re-evaluating the comrades in the Standing Committee, we think that re-evaluating whether those comrades' words go hand in hand with their actions, seeing if they go to the grassroots level?, looking at the issues of issuing resolutions and conclusions of the comrades, seeing if the people and the Party Committee and Party cell do it, because of that reverse action, it has helped the comrades in the Standing Committee to improve their own responsibilities and innovate themselves."
Professor, Doctor, Senior Expert Hoang Chi Bao said that in order to continue to effectively implement Directive 05, leaders, each cadre and party member need to practice what they preach, regularly practice, correctly self-evaluate, resolutely not indulge, especially in the market economy full of traps and temptations, to avoid corruption and degeneration; to contribute to multiplying the core values of Ho Chi Minh's ideology.
“It is difficult to say that it is difficult, but it is also realistic to say that it is not difficult because party members must be exemplary and pioneers. Even if it is difficult, you must overcome it. That is what requires the exemplary and pioneering nature of party members. Party members should look at the masses of their people right where they work and live. We see many noble and ordinary examples of ordinary people so that we can look at them and improve ourselves."
Professor, Doctor, Senior Expert Hoang Chi Bao also said that it is not difficult to say because it must become a need, each party member and cadre should consider moral training as a regular need, a cultural need, without anyone urging, without anyone pressuring, pushing, it is self-contained, and in morality this is the dignity of self-respect, the place that we pay little attention to, do not educate party members about the qualities of self-respect, conscience, honor, knowing shame when doing wrong, bad things, people are aware of that, then in daily behavior there will be no mistakes, must practice moral culture like that then the moral life in the party will be good.
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Chuc, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, and Mr. Cao Van Thong, Member of the Central Inspection Committee, studying and following the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh, each person must cultivate and practice, uphold the value of self-respect; corrupt, degraded and violating cadres and party members must be severely punished by law, and it is imperative to seriously carry out inspection and supervision work on setting an example.
"Setting an example is just one of the measures to make the Party clean, especially when we are building a state of law. Anyone who violates the law must be severely punished by law. No one is outside the law, and no one is above the law," said Mr. Nguyen Viet Chuc.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Chuc also said that Party committees and organizations at all levels must have a program of supervision and inspection with the implementation of exemplary responsibilities, continue to specify in the working regulations of Party committees and Party cells where leaders participate in activities, and have a mechanism to promote the supervisory role of organizations, people, and the press to ensure compliance.
Implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo on “Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle” in conjunction with the work of Party building and rectification will only have real results when each cadre and Party member is imbued with his ideology and morality in their thinking and working. President Ho Chi Minh once taught: “Anyone can say it with their mouths. We need to practice. It is as difficult as the revolution that we have done and succeeded. To do it, we must be determined, have a clear mind and be of one mind. We remember those three words, practice and set an example of those three words, and all of you will surely succeed”./.
