Adopting a child from abroad, the couple discovered something surprising
The American couple did not know that their adopted Chinese daughter had a special relationship with a friend's little girl.
James Maneage, 53, and Staci, 50, of Weldon Springs, had three sons but wanted to adopt more. They wanted a large, well-off family. So in 2010, they went to China and adopted a baby girl from an orphanage, naming her Elliana. She had some brain dysfunction, but the James family decided to bring her back to the United States to raise and treat her.
In 2015, James and his wife met Steve and Paige Galbierz while attending church. They also adopted a baby girl from China, Kinley.

Elliana, 10, and Kinley, 7, became fast friends when they met. The two girls lived in the same town and attended the same school.
Watching the two children play and act so close as if they had known each other for a long time, Staci felt quite strange. Looking closely, she saw that the two children had some similarities, so she told her husband to have both of them get a DNA test.
In April 2015, both families agreed to have their children tested. They also did not think the two children were related because Elliana and Kinley were from two different cities in China when they were adopted.

However, the results were surprising when the samples of the two children were 99% similar, they were truly biological sisters. Currently, the two families are still close and create many opportunities for the two children to be closer to each other.
