The beauty of the black-skinned, short-haired rival is similar to H'Hen Niê at Miss Universe

Wabaiya Kariuki was crowned Miss Universe Kenya in early November. She is 22 years old, 1.65 m tall and will represent Kenya at Miss Universe 2018 in Thailand in December.

Wabaiya Kariuki has healthy brown skin, short hair and a bright smile.

Many viewers commented that Wabaiya looks similar to Vietnam's representative - H'Hen Niê (right) with her short hair. They are also two rare contestants with special hair at Miss Universe 2018.

Wabaiya graduated with a degree in Financial Assessment and is currently working at an insurance start-up.

The new beauty queen enjoys singing, traveling, listening to music and watching movies. Wabaiya is also a singer and in her spare time, she teaches violin at a music school in the capital Nairobi.

In addition to working at an insurance company, Wabaiya also works as a model in her hometown. The new beauty queen shared that her mother is the most influential person in her life, because she is a singer, fashion designer, model with an extremely lovely personality.

If she wins the Miss Universe crown, Wabaiya hopes to promote mental health issues among young people in Kenya. Kenya's most recent achievement was a top 6 finish at Miss Universe 2016.

Vietnam's representative - Miss H'Hen Nie is also ready to compete in December. On the contest's homepage, the 26-year-old beauty expressed that if she wins the crown, she wants to use her influence to help disadvantaged children around the world go to school, especially in developing countries.
