The beauty of Asian origin has just been crowned Miss Universe 2022

Beating 83 contestants, American beauty R'Bonney Gabriel won the Miss Universe 2022 crown on the morning of January 15 (Vietnam time). After 10 years, the Miss Universe crown has returned to the United States.

Ten years after Olivia Culpo won the title, the United States has another Miss Universe. The United States is now the country with the most Miss Universe wins, with nine crowns.

Her victory was widely supported by the audience watching the competition and received positive feedback from fans on beauty forums. At the final, American fans continuously chanted R'Bonney Gabriel's name and encouraged her.

R'Bonney Gabriel had a modest and professional performance before the final night. Many beauty forums did not rank her in the Top 5 before the final hour. However, on the final night, her convincing performance helped the Asian beauty conquer the judges and the audience.

In the Top 5 behavioral round, she received a question about the Miss Universe contest changing, allowing single mothers and married people to participate. The beauty shared: "I think we need to increase the age limit. Now, 28 is the age limit. It's time for a change. I think this is the right time to pursue the things you like, not yesterday or tomorrow."

Then, in the question and answer session for the Top 3, the 29-year-old beauty received the question: "If you win the Miss Universe crown, what will you do to prove that this is an organization that enhances women's influence?"

The American beauty replied: "I would become a leader. For the past 13 years, I have been a stylist and used my fashion designs for meaningful purposes. I have organized sewing classes for women who are victims of domestic violence or victims of human trafficking. Women, use your rare talent to make a difference. Use it to create change."

R'Bonney Gabriel was crowned Miss USA 2022 in October 2022 and was chosen to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2023. R'Bonney Gabriel has a Filipino father and an American mother. According to Insider, she is the first Asian beauty to win the Miss USA pageant.

The 29-year-old beauty has a unique face, is 1m7 tall and is a model and fashion designer in the US.

R'Bonney Gabriel shared at the Miss USA 2022 pageant: "My dad won a scholarship to study in the US and he only had $20 in his pocket. He wanted to make a new life for himself. My dad met my mom in Texas. She was a country woman from Beaumont. I'm proud of my Filipino-Texan heritage."

R'Bonney Gabriel herself has also made constant efforts in her life and career. Before becoming the US representative at Miss Universe 2022, the beauty tried her hand at many state-level beauty pageants.

In 2020, she entered a beauty pageant for the first time and entered the Top 5 of the Miss Kemah pageant. A year later, she competed in Miss Texas (USA) as Miss Harris but was unsuccessful.

Not giving up, in 2022, she became Miss Texas and represented the state in the Miss America 2022 pageant. The sweet victory came to Gabriel after many efforts and persistent attempts.

R'Bonney Gabriel graduated from Lawrence E. Elkins High School in Missouri City (USA) in 2012. In 2018, she received a bachelor's degree in fashion design majoring in fibers from the University of North Texas, USA.

For three months, she lived in New York City as an intern for fashion designer Nicole Miller. She then worked with survivors of domestic violence at a non-profit designer workshop, Magpies & Peacocks, in East Downtown, Houston.

The business collects discarded fabrics and textiles and repairs them to rework and upgrade them into new collections to sell in a retail store. In this working environment, she gained a lot of life experience and understanding of the situation of victims of domestic violence.

Currently, R'Bonney Gabriel runs an eco-friendly fashion brand using recycled materials. "I am a fashion designer and I design what I wear. I wear recycled clothes to improve environmental sustainability. I think it is my duty. Let's look for things in our homes and in our work that can be recycled to make life more sustainable," the beauty shared.

Talking about her natural beauty, the new Miss Universe said: "I love the days when I don't have to cover my face with layers of makeup. I can feel my natural skin. As a model and beauty queen, I find it important to tell young girls that they can still be beautiful with or without makeup."
