Actress Elle Fanning confidently radiated at Cannes, despite many opinions that she was too young to judge the Palme d'Or.

Elle Fanning stood out among veteran judges when attending the screening of "The Dead Don't Die" on the opening day of the Cannes Film Festival, May 14. The American beauty looked like a brilliant flower in a gorgeous dress and sparkling jewelry.

Elle is the youngest of the nine jury members at this year's festival and the youngest in the 72-year history of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, having turned 21 last month.

The "Maleficent" star beamed with the president of the jury - Mexican director and screenwriter Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu.

This year's nine judges are all "veteran" filmmakers of world cinema, except Elle Fanning, including (from left to right): Senegalese director and actress Maimouna N'Diaye, Greek Oscar-nominated director Yorgos Lanthimos, French director and novelist Enki Bilal, Italian director and screenwriter Alice Rohrwacher, Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu, American director and screenwriter Kelly Reichrdt, Dutch director Pawel Pawlikowski and French director and screenwriter Robin Campillo.

In a previous interview with the press, Elle Fanning confidently responded to criticism that she should be replaced because she was too young to be a judge. The actress replied that she may be young in age but she is mature enough in her career. "I am definitely young but I started acting at a very young age. I have made many films and started my career with one of the best films. I feel proud to represent the voice of young people at this year's film festival," Elle shared.

Elle Fanning started acting at just over 2 years old, in "Taken" and "I Am Sam". At the age of 4, she had her first leading role in the comedy "Daddy Day Care". To date, the blonde beauty has appeared in more than 50 television and film productions, winning many awards in the US. Some of her films have also competed for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, such as "Babel" (2006), "The Neon Demon" (2016) and "The Beguiled" (2017).

To global audiences, the 9X beauty is best remembered for her role as the beautiful and strong Princess Aurora in the 2014 movie "Maleficent" co-starring with Angelina Jolie. Part 2 of this movie will be released in October 2019.

Being the center of attention at Cannes this year, Elle Fanning did not show any pressure but always appeared cheerful and radiant.

The young girl is loved by everyone for her beautiful features that still retain the innocence of her twenties.

Elle is like an angel with her bright blonde hair and porcelain skin. She has many similar features to her sister - "Breaking Dawn" actress Dakota Fanning.

Elle and the jury will go through 10 days of intense work, choosing the most worthy work to be awarded the 2019 Palme d'Or.
