Japan ended Thailand's World Cup dream.
Japan easily defeated Thailand 4-0 to climb to the top of Group B in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers for the Asian region, officially ending the chances of the top Southeast Asian representative advancing further.
Shinji Kagawa opened the scoring after just eight minutes before striker Shinji Okazaki doubled the lead 11 minutes later. Yuya Kubo scored the third goal in the 57th minute before Maya Yoshida headed in the winning goal to seal a 4-0 victory.
