Japan rescues 64 Chinese crew members from burning ship.

According to Kyodo News, the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) announced on October 21 that it had rescued all 64 Chinese crew members from a burning cargo ship in waters near Okinawa Prefecture.

According to the announcement, the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) deployed aircraft and patrol vessels on the night of October 20 after receiving notification from Taiwanese authorities that the 12,703-ton Ming Yang vessel was on fire in waters approximately 150 km southeast of Okinawa, Japan.

According to the JCG's 11th Regional Headquarters, the fire appears to have originated in the stern of the ship.

The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) also stated that it had brought all 64 Chinese crew members aboard its patrol vessel at approximately 7:00 AM on October 21st.
