The revenge of a man who was imprisoned twice

On the afternoon of October 31, Tan Ky District People's Court opened a criminal trial against Le Van Binh (born in 1975, residing in Tan Thang hamlet, Tan Long commune, Tan Ky district) for the crime of "Intentionally causing injury".

Binh had two previous convictions. In 1994, the People's Court of Nghe An province sentenced Binh to 42 months in prison for "Extortion of property from citizens". In April 1999, Binh was sentenced to life in prison by the People's Court of Nghe An province for "Murder". After many reductions in his sentence, Binh was released from prison in August 2015.

According to the indictment, at about 1:00 p.m. on July 27, 2017, Le Van Binh and Hoang Ngoc Phuong (living in the same commune) went to Tuan Thuy beer shop in the hamlet to drink beer.

At that time, in the shop, there was a group of Thanh, Thuong, Kieu, Dong (living in the same commune) drinking beer. This group invited Binh and Phuong to drink together but neither said anything. Thinking that his invitation was not respected, Thanh went out, took an iron pipe and went to beat Binh.

The two were struggling back and forth until everyone intervened. At that moment, Thuong punched Binh in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. After everyone intervened, Binh went home, took two sharp knives, put them in his two pockets, and went to find Thanh and Thuong to fight back.

When arriving at the gate of Tan Thang hamlet, Binh met Thanh, both of them continued to challenge each other. Binh pulled out a sharp knife and stabbed Thanh in the right hip, causing bleeding.

Mr. Thanh was taken to the Commune Health Station by local people, but due to severe injuries, he was transferred to Nghe An Provincial General Hospital for treatment until August 7 and then discharged.

In the appraisal report No. 203/TTPY dated August 2, 2017 of Nghe An Province Forensic Center, it was concluded that the health damage caused by injury to Mr. Thanh was 35% at the time of appraisal.

At the investigation agency, Le Van Binh confessed to all his crimes, consistent with the evidence collected during the investigation of the case.

The People's Court sentenced Le Van Binh to 6 years and 6 months in prison and ordered him to pay the victim 69,386,000 VND in compensation.
