The enthusiasm of the leader

(Baonghean.vn) - With initiatives, models and solutions applied effectively in the work of the Youth Union as well as the youth movement in the locality, Mr. Dinh Bui Thuong - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghi Long commune (Nghi Loc) was honored to become one of 25 people recognized as outstanding Youth Union cadres in 2015 by Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.

Dinh Bui Thuong has held the position of Secretary of Nghi Long Commune Youth Union since 2010. During his work, the "leader" of this Youth Union has had many concerns, thoughts, and sought solutions and models to overcome difficulties, promote the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in the locality. One of the meaningful activities of Nghi Long Commune Youth Union is the program "Lighting up the countryside" launched by Nghi Loc District Youth Union.

With the characteristics of a commune with many difficulties, wishing to ensure security in the village, facilitate the movement of people, especially children when going to school and living in the evening, and ensure traffic safety for everyone traveling on the roads, Mr. Dinh Bui Thuong decided to undertake this project.

At the beginning of the program, he encountered many difficulties, especially the lack of funding. However, with the determination and enthusiasm of youth, he went to every house and business in the area to call for support. In particular, he and some members of the Youth Union creatively used cheap materials to make the system, lampshades (to avoid sun and rain), saving money. Up to now, the project has been put into use with a budget of nearly 12 million VND.

Mr. Dinh Van Son in Hamlet 7, Nghi Long Commune excitedly said: “The street electricity system has changed the appearance of the village and the lives of the people. Now, in the evening, people can walk around, exercise, and chat happily after a hard day's work. Especially, the local security and order situation and traffic safety are guaranteed. We are very excited!”

With the theme "Youth taking action for social security and responding to the new rural construction program"; "Winter Volunteer" program launched by Nghi Loc District Youth Union, over the past 6 years since he took on the position of Secretary of the commune Youth Union, he has mobilized union members and youth to donate and give nearly 20 million VND to policy families with especially difficult circumstances, and given scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties to study well.

In particular, implementing the movement "Nghi Long Youth join hands to build new countryside", the Commune Youth Union has undertaken regular environmental sanitation in the commune. Construction and repair of the commune's martyrs' monument, maintenance of rural roads, volleyball courts, concrete roads... with a total value of hundreds of millions of VND.

Mr. Thuong said: "In order for the programs "Winter Volunteer" and "New Rural Construction" to have a strong influence, attracting the attention of many individuals, units and groups, we always focus on propaganda and mobilization work to mobilize social resources, especially resources from units, businesses in the commune and children far from home...".

Excellently completing the assigned tasks, Mr. Dinh Bui Thuong helped Nghi Long Commune Youth Union achieve many achievements in implementing movements. From 2012 to present, Nghi Long Commune Youth Union has always been in the top group in Youth Union work and youth movements in Nghi Loc; received Certificates of Merit from the Central Youth Union and Provincial Youth Union 3 times. He himself was one of 25 outstanding Youth Union officials of Nghe An province in 2015, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
