Many beaches in Nghe An are packed with tourists flocking to cool off.
In recent days, thousands of tourists have flocked to beaches in Nghe An province to swim and relax. This is considered a suitable choice during the intense heatwave.
In recent days, the North Central region has experienced widespread and prolonged heatwaves, with temperatures sometimes reaching 40 degrees Celsius, resulting in sweltering weather. Many tourists and locals have chosen beaches in Nghe An to cool off, especially on weekends when they are always crowded.
Every day, in Cua Lo beach town, a large number of tourists flock to the beach area from early morning. The busiest time is in the late afternoon, with tourists crowding the beach and seafood restaurants. On Binh Minh road, there is a constant stream of traffic and many vehicles parked along both sides of the road.
The majority of visitors came from northern provinces and cities, as well as districts and towns within Nghe An province. Nguyen Chien Thang, a tourist from Son La province, said: “The prolonged heatwave left everyone exhausted, so our family decided to go to Cua Lo beach to cool off. It was a sensible and effective choice, as swimming in the sea soothed the heat and relaxed our spirits.”
Nguyen Tat Son, a tourist from Do Luong district, shared that due to the prolonged hot weather and stuffy, humid air, his whole family goes to Cua Lo beach on weekends to cool off. Besides swimming, his children also get to have fun and enjoy themselves during their summer vacation.
Mr. Hoang Thanh Son, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Cua Lo town, said: “Compared to previous years, the number of visitors to Cua Lo beach town has increased dramatically during this year's peak tourist season. Every day, tens of thousands of tourists are welcomed and served, and hotels in the area are fully booked. On weekends, large hotels along Binh Minh street are completely booked.”
According to Mr. Son, this stems from changes in the landscape and the renewal of tourism products, especially since the VinWonders amusement park came into operation, which has significantly contributed to attracting tourists to Cua Lo.
Along with Cua Lo, Quynh Beach (the beaches in Quynh Luu district and Hoang Mai town) also attracts a large number of visitors who come to swim and enjoy seafood.
Mr. Duong Van Thao, a tourist from Nghia Dan district, said: “The prolonged hot weather affects health and spirits, so my family chose Quynh beach to ‘cool off’. It’s close by, convenient to get to, has decent accommodation, and is reasonably priced.”
According to Mr. Pham Van Giang, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Quynh Luu district, in recent days, an average of thousands of tourists and local people have flocked to the beaches in the district, such as Quynh Nghia, Quynh Bang, and Quynh Luong.
Most visitors come from neighboring districts such as Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, and Thai Hoa town. Visitors typically swim in the early morning and late evening each day, and the number of overnight stays is significantly higher compared to the early months of the season.
Not only Cua Lo and Quynh Beach, but also the beaches in Dien Chau district (Dien Hai, Dien Thanh, Cua Hien) and Nghi Loc district (Bai Lu, Tien Phong) attract a large number of tourists.
Summer 2024 is forecast to see significantly higher temperatures than the multi-year average, with frequent and intense heatwaves. Therefore, it is expected that coastal tourist destinations in Nghe An will continue to welcome a large number of visitors in the coming period.
