(Baonghean.vn) - Vu Lan festival aims to express the filial piety of children towards the great merit of their parents, in the spirit of gratitude and repayment, which is a beautiful feature in Buddhist culture in particular and the tradition of the Vietnamese people in general. On this occasion, many pagodas in the province organized Vu Lan festival to show gratitude.

Vu Lan season is coming, in recent days, many pagodas in the province have solemnly organized the Vu Lan ceremony of filial piety, Buddhist calendar 2563. On August 11 alone (July 11, Ky Hoi year), a series of pagodas such as Gam pagoda (Yen Thanh), Vien Quang pagoda, Dai Tue pagoda (Nam Dan), Duc Hau pagoda, Pho Mon pagoda (Vinh city), Co Am pagoda (Dien Chau), Pho Nghiem pagoda (Nghi Loc) ... simultaneously organized the ceremony, attracting tens of thousands of Buddhists to participate. In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, monks and Buddhists solemnly performed rituals imbued with Buddhist culture such as: offering flowers, offering incense, chanting Buddha's name, reciting Vu Lan sutras to show filial piety, pinning roses, praying for the salvation of ancestors... Attending the Vu Lan ceremony, many Buddhists were shared by monks with many contents related to the topic of filial piety in Buddhism, family morality, and the upbringing and giving birth of parents. Through that, the monks wanted to send to Buddhists and everyone a message of gratitude and gratitude towards parents.

On this occasion, some pagodas such as Duc Hau Pagoda (Vinh City) and Chung Linh Pagoda (Thanh Chuong)... organized candle lighting nights to pay tribute to the merits of parents and heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. Each color of rose in this ceremony symbolizes a different meaning: Yellow roses are given to monks - the successors of Buddha's career in propagating Buddhism, spreading filial piety to all generations. Red roses are for those who still have parents, telling them to live lovingly while their parents are still alive. White roses are for parents who have passed away, reminding them to always remember the nurturing kindness of their ancestors.

During the Vu Lan ceremony, Buddhists also show their gratitude to monks with gifts expressing their sincere hearts.

On the occasion of Vu Lan, some pagodas have given dozens of meaningful gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids and martyrs, and families in difficult circumstances in the area.

To organize the Vu Lan festival, the pagodas mobilized thousands of young people, students, and Buddhists to do volunteer work, and were assigned to many sub-committees to serve the festival. On this occasion, the pagodas also distributed and gave thousands of free meals to Buddhists attending the festival. The Vu Lan season of filial piety in the Buddhist calendar 2563 is coming to all the countrysides of Nghe An in an atmosphere filled with love and filial piety...
