Many pagodas in Nghe An hold memorial services for heroic martyrs
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2020), many pagodas in the province held a requiem ceremony for heroic martyrs and gave gifts to families with meritorious services.
On July 26, Vien Quang Pagoda in Nam Thanh Commune, Nam Dan District solemnly held a mass to pray for the heroic martyrs at the main hall of Vien Quang Pagoda.

The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with spiritual rituals, commemorating the heroic martyrs' contributions, praying for the souls of the heroic martyrs who died for the homeland, offering incense to the souls of the heroic martyrs...
On the occasion of the ceremony, the pagoda presented 27 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, wounded and sick soldiers and relatives of heroic martyrs. Before that, the pagoda held a ceremony to pay respects and invite the souls of heroic martyrs at Do Luong International Cemetery, Truong Bon National Historical Site, Nam Dan District Martyrs Cemetery and other localities.

On the afternoon of July 27, at the martyrs cemetery of Thanh Chuong district - the resting place of nearly 300 martyrs who died in different periods and whose hometowns were in many provinces and cities across the country, Can Linh pagoda coordinated with the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district to organize a grand ceremony to pray for the heroic martyrs.

Joining in the atmosphere of the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, on July 27, 2020, monks and Buddhists of Dai Tue Pagoda, Nam Anh Commune, Nam Dan District went to the martyrs' cemetery in Nam Anh Commune to offer flowers and incense to pay tribute to the predecessors and heroic martyrs who died for the cause of national liberation and protection of the Fatherland.
On the evening of July 26, Duc Hau Pagoda in Nghi An Commune, Vinh City held a memorial service for heroic martyrs at the pagoda with the participation of many Buddhists, laymen and women, and relatives of martyrs in the area. At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Dinh Tue shared the meaning of the memorial service for heroic martyrs in the spirit of gratitude for the four great favors of a Buddhist child...

These are activities with humanistic meaning, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", expressing gratitude and remembrance to soldiers, compatriots, and outstanding children of the nation who did not spare their blood and bones for the independence, freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.
