According to the police, Viet used a profile picture with a female name to make friends and get to know young, attractive girls on social networks. He introduced himself as the owner of a massage parlor recruiting "long-legged girls" for a high-class prostitution ring, with each "quickie" session costing up to 2 million VND.
This young man said that customers have very high demands and can bring in tens, even hundreds of millions of dong in income each month. Believing the enticement, many girls agreed to join the prostitution ring.
Viet appeared to meet the victims as a manager. When taking the girls to hotels and motels to serve customers, he used the excuse of "safety" and asked them to give him all their belongings, phones, wallets, and motorbikes for safekeeping.
