(Baonghean.vn) - Studying a trade and going abroad with a salary of tens of millions of dong/month is not too difficult for students today. However, to get a favorable ticket, it requires a lot of effort and perseverance.

Working abroad

Dao Xuan Luan is a famous former student of Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce. 10 years ago, after graduating with a degree in culinary arts, he spent many years making a living in the province and life was still difficult. The opportunity to "go abroad" came to him after his former teacher, who is currently the Head of the Department of Culinary Arts, introduced him to work at a restaurant in Germany.

After 4 years of working, with experience, talent and diligence, he is now a head chef of a Vietnamese restaurant in a city in West Germany. Moreover, after many years of tireless efforts, his graduation certificate has been converted by the German Government and is equivalent to a foreign training certificate. It is also a solid passport for him to work long-term in Germany and creates opportunities for him to recruit many other alumni of the school to work.

InVinh University, jobstudentGoing abroad and working abroad under a training cooperation program is not uncommon. This program is for third-year students from the faculties of Biology, Agriculture, Forestry, Geography, and Environmental Resource Management and was initiated by the school in 2012 by bringing students to work and intern at farms and businesses operating in the agricultural sector in Israel and each week they will attend 4 days of study at research centers.

After graduation, students will have an internship certificate in the host country and will be given priority in recruitment at many domestic and foreign enterprises.

Since 2019, the school has continued to launch the South Australian Internship Program to develop human resources for the province in key industries such as high-tech agriculture, civil construction... to create opportunities for students of Nghe An province to study and experience abroad.

The most meaningful thing about this program is that it not only gives students the opportunity to study but also allows them to work and be paid as official employees. Nguyen Dinh Chien - a student majoring in Aquaculture is the first student to participate in this program. After more than 2 years of studying and working in Australia, Chien has had very special experiences at a business in the same major he is studying. In addition, he is also paid a salary of 3,000 - 3,500 Australian dollars/month - a dream number for many students sitting in the lecture hall.

Australia, Japan and Israel are all potential markets and all cooperate to select Vietnamese students to work and intern. With this program, students can earn 30 - 40 million VND, not including part-time work, and will be supported with job referrals when they return to work in Vietnam if needed. Studying and working abroad will also be an opportunity for students to improve their foreign language skills and work skills in a professional environment that requires high discipline.

Create a source of high quality labor force

For more than 3 years now, despite the complicated developments of the epidemic, Pham Duc Manh and 15 other students of the German Automotive Technology Department -Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Collegestill go to class regularly and rarely miss school without special reasons.

This is a special class, taught according to the German Government's curriculum to train high-quality workers to work in the host country after graduation. Students in this class are strictly selected from hundreds of other students of the school with three subjects: Math, English and a skills test. During the course, students in this class are regularly supervised and tested by German experts every semester. In addition, they must also study German, at least B1 level, to have the opportunity to work abroad after working.

The advantage of this program is that students are fully covered for tuition, including foreign language. After 4 years of study, they will be awarded both Vietnamese and German degrees and will be directly recruited to work with a good salary, which can be up to thousands of dollars/year.

Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce is also having 2 classes following this program. This is also 1 of 22 schools nationwide that the General Department of Vocational Education - Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has implemented a pilot program with a very small number of students, only 16 students/class.

In the Culinary Arts class, all students are currently male and after 3 years of rigorous, methodical training with hundreds of foreign dishes… their opportunity to come to Germany is getting closer.

Student Gian Tu Truong (from Cat Van commune, Thanh Chuong district) said: My family has a small restaurant in my hometown, so since I was in high school, I dreamed of becoming a chef.

At first, when I first entered the school, I just thought I would study well, but the opportunity brought me to this high-quality training class and now my wish is to soon go abroad to work...

Teacher Bui Van Duc - Head of the Culinary Technology Department is very optimistic, because according to him, the foreign labor market, including Germany, is in great need of culinary professionals. Therefore, if the program is properly trained and has the support of the State, it will certainly attract many students to participate.

Although this is a pilot program and Nghe An only has 2 vocational schools selected, the fact that students have successfully completed more than 2/3 of the journey shows positive signs.

This is also a new direction, opening up many opportunities for students studying at vocational schools in Nghe An and from there will train a high-quality workforce not only to serve the labor needs of partner countries, but also for the domestic labor market, meeting the development needs of society.
