Many changes in 2019 admissions of the Police Academy
On January 22, the Department of Training (Ministry of Public Security) announced some contents of the implementation of the People's Public Security recruitment work in 2019.
Accordingly, this year's regular university and college admissions are basically the same as 2018 in terms of subjects, standards, and preliminary and selection processes. However, there are some adjustments.
Admission score = 75% of national high school exam score + 25% of academic transcript score
The 2019 admission method of the police school block has been changed to consider admission by combining the results of the national high school exam (accounting for 75% of the admission score) and the results of the high school transcript (accounting for 25% of the admission score). In previous admission seasons, this block of schools only considered admission based on the national high school exam scores.
According to the new method, the admission scores for police schools will include: the scores of 3 subjects in the admission combination in the 2019 national high school exam; the average score of the study results in 3 years of high school; regional and subject priority points according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; bonus points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security for candidates who won prizes in the national excellent student selection exam organized by the Ministry of Education.

Candidates applying to the police academy must meet the average academic standards or higher in high school, and must score 7 points or higher in the subjects in the admission group. Soldiers performing their duty in the people's police who do not meet the academic requirements will have their applications accepted, but will not be included in the university admission list. This group will only use the results of the national high school exam to consider admission to intermediate level and transfer to professional level (if desired).
In 2019, the quota for each subject group for schools using multiple groups for admission is clearly regulated by the Department of Training. Group A01 (Math, Physics, English) accounts for 30% of the total assigned quota; D01 (Math, Literature, English) accounts for 30% of the total assigned quota; C03 (Math, Literature, History) accounts for 40% of the total assigned quota.
Changing health standards
Health standards for candidates applying for admission to the police academy are implemented according to Official Dispatch No. 3026 (2017) of the General Department of Logistics and Technology of the People's Police. In particular, the BMI index (calculated by weight divided by height squared) of candidates is regulated to be from 17.9 (for men) and 18.02 (for women) to under 30 (for both men and women).
Candidates with myopia who are registered to apply to police schools must commit to being cured upon admission. In case of positive test results for hepatitis B virus (health classification 3), they will not be considered for admission.
