(Baonghean.vn) - Information from Vinh Bus Station Joint Stock Company: As of February 27, only 8 transport business units have announced fare reductions.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tu - Deputy Head of Vinh Bus Station said: Although gasoline prices have decreased in recent times, only a few businesses have reduced fares. According to the station's statistics, only 8 units have announced fare reductions, with a reduction of 2.2 - 4.8%. Of which, Hai Van Tourism Service Transport Company Limited (Da Nang) is the unit with the highest reduction. Specifically, the ticket price for the Vinh - Da Nang route and vice versa has been reduced from 210,000 VND to 200,000 VND. For the remaining units, the fare reduction is not significant.

According to Mr. Tu, in the face of the sharp drop in gasoline prices, the Company has contacted transportation businesses to get opinions on adjusting fares.

Thus, there are very few units that have reduced fares and the reduction is "perfunctory", out of a total of 49 units with 350 vehicles registered for transportation business at Vinh bus station, only 8 units have announced fare reductions. Not only stopping at passenger cars, currently taxi or bus transport business units have not made any moves to reduce fares. Explaining the reason for not reducing fares, a representative of Tan Phuong Thao Service and Tourism Company Limited (bus route No. 27 Vinh - Anh Son) said that the unit has not yet reduced fares because the unit has not received documents from the authorities on this matter!?

According to information from a number of taxi transport businesses in the province, on the afternoon of February 29, representatives of 15 passenger transport units in the form of taxis will hold a meeting to discuss and agree on appropriate fare reductions.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Head of Transport Management Department, Nghe An Department of Transport, said: The Department has issued a document to relevant units regarding fare reduction. Accordingly, transport business units must develop and declare fare reductions in accordance with reduced fuel prices (the reduction level is not lower than 3% compared to the previous declaration) and send them to competent authorities before February 29.

It is thought that functional units need to strengthen propaganda, inspection and supervision of fare reduction at transport business units. From there, ensure the rights of the people.

At 3:00 p.m. on February 18, gasoline prices continued to fall to a record low in more than 6 years. Accordingly, the price of RON 92 decreased by VND960/liter, bringing the current retail price from VND14,710/liter to VND13,750/liter. This is the fourth adjustment in gasoline prices in 2016. The first adjustment on January 4 reduced the price of RON 92 gasoline by VND370/liter. The second adjustment on January 19 reduced the price by VND590/liter. The third adjustment on February 3 reduced the price of RON 92 gasoline by VND730/liter. Thus, since the beginning of the year, gasoline prices have decreased by a total of VND2,650/liter.
