Many activities were held to celebrate October 20th for women in Nghe An.
To commemorate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2024), women's associations at all levels in Nghe An organized many practical activities, spreading the movement and the image of Nghe An women worthy of the eight golden words "Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and capable" bestowed by President Ho Chi Minh.
Accordingly, the most common activity organized by all levels of the Women's Union in the province is seminars and meetings for officials, members, and women to review the traditions of the Vietnam Women's Union over the past 94 years, and at the same time, affirm the role of the Union.Vietnamese womenthroughout the history of our nation and homeland.
In addition, many levels of the association have flexibly and creatively organized many specific and practical activities.Quynh Luu districtThe Women's Union of the district organized the "Golden Bell" quiz to test knowledge about food safety and hygiene and awarded prizes for the "Women's Entrepreneurship Ideas" competition in 2024.
The "Golden Bell Challenge: Understanding Food Safety Knowledge" attracted 100 contestants, representing hundreds of businesses and producers in various communes and towns, who answered 30 questions related to knowledge and legal regulations on ensuring food hygiene and safety. At the end of the competition, the organizing committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and 3 consolation prizes.
Regarding the "Women's Entrepreneurship Ideas" competition in 2024, launched by the District Women's Union in March 2024, it attracted 25 entries. The organizing committee selected 6 outstanding ideas to award prizes, including 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and 2 consolation prizes.
In addition to district-level activities, many women's associations at the commune level in Quynh Luu district organized seminars on finding solutions to improve the quality of branch activities; seminars combined with gift-giving to "godmothers". Some local associations organized folk games, cooking competitions, volleyball matches, visits and gift-giving to disadvantaged women and children…; creating opportunities for connection, sharing, and understanding among officials, members, and women, and creating a beneficial playground to attract members.
WithCua Lo townThe Women's Union of Cua Lo town organized a conference to commend 10 outstanding branch leaders, thereby recognizing, encouraging, and spreading the contributions of union officials in all sectors. The Women's Union of Cua Lo town also held an awards ceremony for the online contest "The Beauty of Cua Lo Women".
The online contest "The Beauty of Cua Lo Women" involved creating videos about the practical and effective activities, movements, and work of women's organizations, officials, and members. Through these videos, the aim was to spread the positive images and activities of women's officials and members in the movement to build a civilized urban area and model residential area, initiated by Cua Lo town. Of the 88 videos submitted, 10 were awarded prizes.
The Women's Association of Cua Lo town also organized a Women's Football Tournament with the participation of 7 teams from 7 wards in the area; creating a healthy and beneficial playground, raising awareness of health training among women and promoting the physical education and sports movement in the locality.
Thanh Chuong DistrictThe organization held a review meeting on the three-year implementation of the "Godmother - Connecting Love" program; and simultaneously, coordinated with the District Labor Union to launch the second phase of the program.
Accordingly, over the three years of implementing the program, the Women's Union of Thanh Chuong district and its branches have connected with 132 agencies, units, and philanthropists to sponsor 150 orphaned children in difficult circumstances, with a total value of over 2.3 billion VND in cash and gifts, of which over 2.2 billion VND was in cash. At the launch ceremony of the second phase, the Thanh Chuong District Women's Union connected with 8 organizations and individuals to sponsor 10 orphaned children, with a total of 153 million VND, and the District Labor Union connected with 4 organizations to sponsor 3 orphaned children, with a total of 34 million VND.
On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union., Women's Association of Hung Nguyen DistrictIn coordination with the District Farmers' Association, they organized a recreational volleyball tournament; in collaboration with the District Committee for the Advancement of Women, they organized a conference to commend outstanding individuals in the emulation movement "Building the New Era Women of Hung Nguyen"; and linked this with a thematic discussion on "Gender Equality and the Advancement of Women in the New Era". Accordingly, 19 individuals were commended in the emulation movement "Building the New Era Women of Hung Nguyen".
This emulation movement has been implemented since 2022 with many practical contents and activities, such as equipping cadres, members, and women with knowledge in all aspects; supporting family economic development; providing healthcare; building "Houses of Love"...; contributing to spreading the spirit of striving for self-improvement, awareness, and responsibility towards oneself, family, and society among women.
WithHoang Mai townThe Women's Association of Hoang Mai town organized the launching ceremony of the "Women Entrepreneurs Club" with 65 members; along with many activities to improve the operational skills of association officials, cultural exchanges, arts and sports activities, etc., aiming to promote the quality of activities and movements of the association as well as spread the image of the modern Hoang Mai woman...
