Coming to Thanh Chuong district on this occasion, we feel more changes in this midland mountainous district. Everywhere is rising a movement to compete in beautifying new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Many roads and residential areas are hung with flags, posters, and colorful, eye-catching slogans to celebrate the 555th anniversary of the name Thanh Chuong and the 94th anniversary of the tradition of the Party Committee and people of Thanh Chuong district (September 1, 1930 - September 1, 2024).

In addition to taking care of the decoration, based on practical needs and requirements, many agencies, units and localities have registered to build practical works and projects to celebrate the important event of the homeland.

In Thanh Lien commune, 2 projects have been completed and put into use, including a 2-lane road to the commune center, more than 1.6 km long with a welcome gate, lighting system, propaganda and cheering signs, flower beds, trees and a project to upgrade the central stadium system of the commune, more than 10,000 m2 wide.²with full mini artificial soccer field, volleyball, running track, event stage, lighting system to meet night events.

Comrade Phan Ba ​​Ngoc - Party Secretary, Chairman of Thanh Lien Commune People's Committee said: The above 2 projects have a total investment of more than 11 billion VND; of which the commune budget is 6 billion VND, the rest is mobilized from socialization among the people, children far from home, and philanthropists.

Currently, the locality is continuing to construct an ecological lake associated with a recreation area of ​​about 3 hectares. Of which, more than 2 hectares of lotus pond and surrounding system of walking paths, flower beds, ornamental trees 8 meters wide; installing stone bench system, lighting, gym, sports, entertainment equipment..., with a total estimated cost of 1.8 billion VND.

This project not only creates a highlight for the rural landscape but also creates space and conditions for people to exercise, entertain, relax, check-in, contributing to improving the quality of spiritual enjoyment for rural people.

In Thanh Phong commune, on the basis of allocating 500 million VND from the local budget, the Party Committee, the government and the entire political system have also propagated and mobilized the people, combined with calling on children far from home and benefactors to support more than 800 million VND to build a multi-functional building for Thanh Phong Primary School, 450 m wide.²with a total value of more than 1.3 billion VND. After the project was completed and put into use in April 2024, it met the needs of physical education, sports, and extracurricular activities of students and teachers of the school; especially, the facilities were sufficient for Thanh Phong Primary School to be recognized as a school that met level 2 standards.

In the hamlets of Thanh Phong commune, there has also been a movement to compete in beautifying the new rural appearance, upgrading the new rural criteria, creating a premise to build a model new rural area by 2025.

Results from the beginning of 2024 until now, according to comrade Phan Manh Hung - Secretary of Thanh Phong Commune Party Committee: In 7/7 hamlets, there has been a movement to compete in building flower beds, ornamental plants, beautifying the rural environment, expanding the rural roadbed and sidewalk from 3 to 4 m and 3.5 to 4.5 m, with a total budget contributed by the people of nearly 1.5 billion VND and thousands of working days.

In Thanh Thuy border commune, officials and people have actively invested in and renovated the lighting system with flagpoles and security camera systems with a total of more than 1,600 electric poles. Currently, the lighting system and flagpoles have covered 100% of national highways, provincial roads, district roads passing through the area and commune, village and hamlet roads.

Comrade Trinh Van Nha - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district said: With the desire to create a vibrant, practical and effective emulation movement, promoting the implementation of local political tasks, especially the movement to build new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas; in December 2023, the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district developed a plan to launch an emulation movement in all fields to celebrate the 555th anniversary of the name Thanh Chuong and the 94th anniversary of the tradition of the Party Committee and people of Thanh Chuong. In particular, each locality and unit is required to build celebratory works, or select work content right from the grassroots level, creating strong changes in the construction of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Results after more than half a year of launching, as of early July 2024, stemming from the reality as well as the legitimate aspirations of the people; 8 district-level agencies and 38/38 communes and towns in the district have deployed the construction of more than 300 practical works and works, with a total value of nearly 35 billion VND.

The main projects are construction and upgrading of office infrastructure; commune radio station; schools and auxiliary works; commune - hamlet cultural houses, stadiums; sports areas; making flower beds - ornamental plants; making roads and installing traffic safety signs; building drainage ditches, upgrading rural markets; martyrs' memorials; power lines, flag roads...

In addition, some units and localities have upgraded electronic information portals; built welcome gates and propaganda and agitation clusters; built youth vegetable garden models; new agricultural models with high economic efficiency...

More than 1.7 million people took part in a contest to learn about tradition.

Along with launching a practical emulation movement, contributing to building Thanh Chuong homeland to be more and more beautiful and civilized; the Party Committee and the government of Thanh Chuong district also organized an online contest to learn about the history and culture of 555 years of the name Thanh Chuong and 94 years of tradition of the Party Committee and people of Thanh Chuong district. The contest attracted more than 1.7 million participants, especially the young generation in the district and children far from home.

Many cultural and sports activities have also been implemented at the district level, such as organizing an open tennis tournament and a men's volleyball tournament. On this occasion, the district will also launch the book "Thanh Chuong Geography".
