(Baonghean)The Executive Committee of the Nghe An Journalists Association recently held a conference to launch activities celebrating the 89th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2014) and to present the Nghe An Journalism Awards 2013.

Accordingly, the Provincial Journalists Association focuses on mobilizing journalist branches and media agencies in the province to effectively carry out propaganda work on the purpose and significance of the glorious traditional day of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism; honoring, encouraging, and supporting outstanding journalists and members, in order to further enhance the political acumen, professional skills, and professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists; and encouraging members and journalists to produce more works promoting the sovereignty of the sea and islands, and combating the arrogant and wrongful actions of China infringing upon Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands…

On this occasion, the Provincial Journalists Association organized sports activities; visited and presented gifts to journalists and members facing particularly difficult circumstances; visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers at coastal border guard posts. They also reported their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien historical site. The Provincial Journalists Association, in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications, organized the awarding of the Nghe An Journalism Prize 2013, presented the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism, and awarded the Association's emulation titles for 2014.
