(Baonghean.vn) -In implementing the 2013 Action Month for Children and International Children's Day on June 1st, Ky Son district directed all Party committees, government agencies, and departments and organizations to implement activities related to the care and education of children in all 21 communes and towns.
On the occasion of International Children's Day on June 1st, the district organized a campaign, selecting Bac Ly commune as the pilot location, and presented 28 gifts to poor children with particularly difficult circumstances. At the same time, other communes carried out many practical cultural activities to encourage children from ethnic minority communities to strive for a better life.
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Information, the Department of Education and Training, and the Children's Protection Fund, is strengthening communication activities to raise awareness among all segments of the population about caring for and protecting children; focusing on preventing accidents and injuries to children during the summer. All actions are aimed at the goal of "creating equal development opportunities for poor children and children from ethnic minorities." Ky Son district currently has 24,897 children under 16 years old, of which 19,420 are from ethnic minorities living in poverty.
