(Baonghean.vn) - Blood donation, charity house giving, and gift giving to poor students were carried out by many organizations and units in the province on May 21.

With the message of connection and sharing, "a drop of blood given - a life saved", donating blood to save people has become a noble act that has been actively responded to by officials and people of Nghia Dan district. At the "Voluntary Blood Donation" Festival, more than 800 officials, civil servants, public employees, and youth union members participated; 588 units of blood were collected.

On May 24, Nghia Dan district will organize the second blood donation campaign; in both campaigns, it is expected that 1,500 - 1,600 people will donate blood, collecting 1,114 units of blood.

With the call of the Red Cross Society of the district, a business in Ho Chi Minh City donated 50 million VND, the commune government and neighbors donated some materials and labor days worth tens of millions of VND to support Ms. Hue's family to build a house. The new house has an area of ​​50 m2, worth 170 million VND.

On the same day, the District Red Cross Association coordinated with a number of benefactors to distribute 240 free meals to patients being treated at Dien Chau General Hospital. Since the beginning of the “Humanitarian Month” up to now, over 4,000 bowls of newspapers and free meals have been given to patients in the district.
