(Baonghean.vn) - On March 7, activities took place to build charity houses and distribute charity porridge to the poor and disadvantaged households in the province.

*Nghia Dan District Youth UnionCoordinated with the District Police Youth Union to organize the "Charitable Porridge Pot" program to join hands for poor patients at the District Medical Center.

At the program, nearly 160 bowls of free porridge were distributed to poor patients being treated here.

This meaningful program is organized by the Standing Committee of Nghia Dan District Youth Union every week. The assigned branches will select raw materials, cook porridge and distribute it for free to poor patients and their families who are being treated at the District Medical Center.

The program "Charity porridge pot" is a meaningful activity, showing the sharing of union members and youths in the whole district for the poor, patients in especially difficult circumstances, who are undergoing long-term treatment at the hospital.

The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Uoc in Trung Tien village, Quynh Thang commune, is in a particularly difficult situation in the area. Her husband died early, leaving her to raise three children alone. Her family has been living in an old, dilapidated thatched roof house for many years.

Sharing the family's situation, the District Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans in coordination with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs donated 50 million VND and called on businesses in the district to donate 20 million VND to support the construction of a charity house for 3 orphans; to help the family stabilize their lives.

*Nam Dan District Youth Unionheld a groundbreaking ceremony to build a charity house for Ms. Dinh Thi Ly in hamlet 4, Nam Anh commune.

Ms. Dinh Thi Ly is a single parent in extremely difficult circumstances. Her life depends mainly on subsidies (more than 400,000 VND/month) and the generous help of the community.

Currently, the level 4 house she is living in is seriously degraded. In order to share the difficulties with her family, with the support of 40 million VND from the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, 20 million VND from Dai Tue Pagoda, Nam Dan District Youth Union organized a groundbreaking ceremony to build a charity house for her family.

The level 4 house is expected to be built with an area of ​​nearly 40m2.2with 2 rooms, total value 80 million VND. Currently, the Executive Committee of Nam Anh Commune Youth Union is continuing to organize charity fundraising activities such as car washing, contributing working days, calling for support from agencies, organizations and benefactors, to help her family soon have a solid home and a stable life.

*Representative of Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Societydirectly visited, encouraged and presented 6.5 million VND (the amount donated by kind-hearted people inside and outside the province) to support Tran Dang Truong (Hamlet 19, Hoa Thien, Hien Son Commune, Do Luong District), who is being treated at the Palliative Treatment Department - Nghe An Oncology Hospital.

Truong, 13 years old, has been paralyzed for over a year now from tetanus infection due to a thorn in his foot. To treat Truong, his parents had to sell all their assets and mortgage their house. The family is currently in a very difficult situation and is hoping to receive help from kind-hearted people to treat their child.
