(Baonghean.vn) - On September 4th, various units and localities in the province carried out numerous social and charitable activities, including gift-giving events for students ahead of the new school year.

*On the morning of September 4th, the Provincial Youth Union organized the program "Helping Children Go to School".Gifts were given to underprivileged students affected by floods in Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son districts.

Provincial Youth Union Secretary Pham Tuan Vinh and his delegation visited My Ly Semi-Boarding Ethnic Minority Secondary School, My Ly 1 Primary School in Ky Son district, and Tam Quang Secondary School in Tuong Duong district to inquire about and share the difficulties and damages caused by the floods, and to present gifts to the schools and students.

In this program, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Secretariat of the Provincial Youth Union Federation distributed a total of over 15,000 books, 13,000 notebooks, 150 blankets, 200 mats, 45 packages of essential goods, 50 sets of school supplies, and other valuable gifts to students affected by natural disasters and floods in three mountainous districts (Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Con Cuong) before the start of the new school year.

On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union Secretary Pham Tuan Vinh and his delegation also visited and presented gifts to the families of Mr. Phan Van Giang and Mr. Lo Thanh Hung in My Ly commune, Ky Son district. These are two families whose houses were destroyed and swept away by floodwaters during the recent heavy rains.

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 4 and the recent floods, many schools in Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Con Cuong districts were flooded, causing damage to machinery, equipment, desks, chairs, and teaching materials. This has created many difficulties in preparing for the new school year's opening and providing boarding services for students.

Faced with these difficulties, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Secretariat of the Provincial Youth Union Association appealed to philanthropists and businesses to donate nearly 100 million VND to help and promptly support disadvantaged students after the recent floods.

The total donation amounted to 325 million VND, sourced from the district's fund for supporting people with disabilities and orphans. Since the beginning of the year, Dien Chau district has donated 500 bicycles to disabled and orphaned students in the district. Along with the bicycle donations, the district has also given hundreds of gifts to students at the start of the new school year.

To share and encourage students in the new school year, the delegation presented 76 gift packages, each worth 400,000 VND, including school bags, notebooks, pens, etc., to the students. This is a social activity organized annually by the Anh Son District Police, calling for the community's support to help poor and disadvantaged students.

As a native of Quynh village, Dr. Le Thong Nhat wishes to return to Ho Tung Mau Primary and Secondary School in Quynh Doi commune to share his knowledge and wisdom with teachers, especially the students.

On this occasion, Dr. Le Thong Nhat donated 13 boxes of books containing thousands of volumes across various subjects and fields to Ho Tung Mau Primary and Secondary School. The two primary schools in Thach Ngan commune have many branch schools located in villages more than 5km away from the main school.
