*On the morning of September 4, the Provincial Youth Union organized the program "Helping children go to school"Giving gifts to disadvantaged students affected by floods in Con Cuong, Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts.

Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Pham Tuan Vinh and the delegation visited My Ly Boarding Secondary School, My Ly 1 Primary School, Ky Son District and Tam Quang Secondary School, Tuong Duong to inquire about and share the difficulties and damages caused by the flood and gave gifts to the schools and students.

In this program, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Provincial Youth Union Secretariat presented a total of more than 15,000 books, 13,000 notebooks, 150 blankets, 200 mats, 45 gifts of necessities, 50 sets of school supplies and a number of other valuable gifts... to students affected by natural disasters and floods in 3 mountainous districts (Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong) before the opening day of the new school year.

On this occasion, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Pham Tuan Vinh and the delegation also visited and presented gifts to the families of Mr. Phan Van Giang and Mr. Lo Thanh Hung, My Ly commune, Ky Son. These are two families whose houses collapsed and were swept away by floodwaters during the recent floods.

Due to the impact of storm No. 4 and recent floods, many schools in Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Con Cuong districts were flooded, causing damage to machinery, equipment, desks, chairs, and teaching aids... making preparations for the new school year and implementing boarding for students facing many difficulties.

Faced with such difficulties, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Provincial Youth Union Secretariat called on philanthropists and businesses to donate nearly 100 million VND to join hands to help and promptly share and encourage students in difficult circumstances after the recent flood.

The total donation cost is 325 million VND, taken from the district's fund for the disabled and orphans. Since the beginning of the year, Dien Chau has donated 500 bicycles to disabled and orphaned students in the district. Along with the bicycle donation, the district has also given hundreds of gifts to students at the beginning of the new school year.

* Anh Son District Policetogether with representatives of Truc Lam Zen Monastery (Yen Thanh district) presented 76 gifts to poor students of Hung Son Primary and Secondary School (Anh Son).

In order to share and encourage the spirit of students in the new school year. The delegation presented 76 gifts, each worth 400 thousand VND including: school bags, notebooks, pens, ... to the students. This is a social activity organized by Anh Son District Police every year, calling for the community's cooperation and contribution to help poor students.

* In Ky Son District,A local enterprise donated 30 sets of desks and chairs to Muong Xen Town Primary School. It donated dining utensils, refrigerators, and water purifiers to Muong Xen Town Kindergarten and 10 lockers for boarding students to Muong Tip Kindergarten. The total value of the gifts to the schools was equivalent to 100 million VND.

* Dr. Le Thong Nhat presented thousands of books to Ho Tung Mau Secondary School (Quynh Doi Commune, Quynh Luu)before the new school year. As a son of Quynh village, Dr. Le Thong Nhat wishes to return to Ho Tung Mau Secondary School, Quynh Doi commune to share his knowledge and wisdom with teachers, especially students.

On this occasion, Dr. Le Thong Nhat presented 13 boxes of books with thousands of books in various subjects and fields to Ho Tung Mau Secondary School. These books will help the school build a school library; thereby helping teachers and students gain new and useful knowledge in their studies.

Previously, due to heavy rain and floods, these two schools suffered heavy damage, many desks and chairs of students and teachers were swept away and severely damaged by flood water. This is the kindness of children working far from home, to share the difficulties, encourage teachers and students in the flooded area to enter the new school year.

Bac Ke Gai 1 Hamlet has 105 households with over 400 people, 100% of whom are Catholic. The two primary schools of Thach Ngan commune have many satellite schools in villages more than 5km away from the main school, making transportation difficult, especially during the rainy season when water levels rise in streams and spillways, causing villages to be cut off and isolated. Therefore, the lives of the people here are very difficult and deprived. The gifts from the donations of female business members have helped the poor students in the mountainous district to ease their difficulties and start the new school year.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross supported people in Ky Son district whose houses collapsed and families whose members died due to floods with 50 million VND.

Kiet's family is poor and extremely difficult. His mother left home and went missing. His father passed away not long after that, leaving Kiet and his two younger siblings to live with their 74-year-old grandmother.
