Many meaningful activities to show gratitude in July

(Baonghean.vn) - These days of July, continuing the tradition and morality of the Vietnamese people "When drinking water, remember its source", young people in districts across the province have been organizing many practical and meaningful activities to show gratitude to policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

From early morning, the youth union members of Long Son commune, Anh Son district gathered together at the house of mother Dang Thi Cuc in village 6, a former Youth Volunteer, 4/4 class disabled soldier to prepare for a "gratitude meal". While working, everyone listened to their mother recount the days of breaking rocks, opening roads, transporting ammunition and weapons to the battlefield. Mother Dang Thi Cuc emotionally said: “Over the years, the Party, the State, and the authorities at all levels have always cared and encouraged me, especially on holidays and Tet. Every day, being alone in the house is sad, but today, with the members of the Youth Union and young people coming to help clean the house and cook a meal together, I am very touched, the house feels warmer and happier”. Ms. Tran Thi Hien - Secretary of the Long Son Commune Youth Union said that every year the Youth Union has coordinated with organizations in the commune to carry out many programs to honor War Invalids and Martyrs Day. This year, we are very happy to organize a "Gratitude Meal" at the family of Dang Thi Cuc. This is an opportunity for our young generation to be educated and review the tradition of "remembering the source of drinking water", to show gratitude to those who sacrificed their blood and bones for national independence. Towards the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), localities across the province have joined hands to organize many meaningful activities demonstrating the nation's ethics of "Repaying gratitude" and "When drinking water, remember its source". Organizing many activities to honor people with meritorious services such as: Medical examination, treatment, and free medicine for policy families; supporting and helping policy families repair and renovate houses; giving gifts to policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution; organizing cleaning and renovating cemeteries, memorial houses for martyrs of the commune and martyr cemeteries...
