Tuong Duong Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has more than 300 students from Thai, Mong, Kho Mu, and O Du ethnic minorities. To prepare for the children to have a joyful and warm Tet holiday, the school organized many exciting activities, including a contest to wrap Chung cake, Tet cake, and buffalo horn cake. |
The ingredients, including sticky rice and dong leaves, are mainly taken by teachers and students from the village where they live. |
Many students, although young, have shown proficiency in wrapping cakes. |
However, there are many children who rarely have access to banh chung and banh tet, so they need guidance from teachers and parents. |
Many students said that this was the first time they had participated in such a meaningful competition, so they felt very happy. From this competition, they learned what banh chung and banh tet are. |
Some skilled elders were also invited to give additional guidance to the students. |
Although unfamiliar with banh chung and banh tet, many students are familiar with wrapping croissant cakes. |
Croissants are made by the hands of highland students. |

A work of 8th grade students has just been completed. |
