Many outstanding results of Nghe An press agencies after being arranged according to planning
Since 2021, Nghe An province has reduced 4 press agencies to 3 press agencies according to the plan.

Before the implementation of the Press Planning according to Decision No. 362/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2019 of the Prime Minister, Nghe An had 7 press agencies licensed to operate by the Ministry of Information and Communications, including: Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Labor Newspaper, Nghe An Police Newspaper, Nghe An Culture Magazine, Song Lam Magazine and Science and Technology Magazine.
After the Provincial Party Standing Committee gave its opinion in August 2020, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 3270/QD.UBND dated September 25, 2020 approving the "Project to implement the arrangement of press agencies in Nghe An province until 2025".
Accordingly, Nghe An Labor Newspaper (the governing body is Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation) will be dissolved, some reporters and editors in need will be transferred to Nghe An Newspaper, others will be transferred to the Provincial Labor Federation to arrange work suitable to their expertise.
Dissolve Nghe An Culture Magazine (the governing body is the Department of Culture - Sports); at the same time merge it into Song Lam Magazine to continue operating; Song Lam Magazine and the Provincial Literature and Arts Association are responsible for developing a project to improve the quality and publish Song Lam Magazine in accordance with the conditions after the merger.
Dissolve the Science and Technology Journal (the governing body is the Department of Science and Technology); and at the same time convert it into a Special Issue under the Department of Science and Technology.
Nghe An Public Security Newspaper (the governing body is Nghe An Public Security) shall comply with Point c, Clause III, Article 1 of Decision No. 362/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2019 of the Prime Minister on approving the National Press Development and Management Plan until 2025. Specifically, "The Ministry of Public Security shall complete the arrangement of newspapers of the Public Security of 5 provinces and centrally-run cities into publications of the People's Public Security Newspaper in 2020".
By 2021, Nghe An has completed the Press Planning. Accordingly, the province has 3 press agencies including: Nghe An Newspaper (under the Provincial Party Committee); Nghe An Radio and Television Station (under the Provincial People's Committee) and Song Lam Magazine (under the Provincial Literature and Arts Association) in accordance with the provisions of Decision No. 362: Each province and centrally-run city after implementing the planning has 3 press agencies, including 1 print newspaper agency under the Provincial Party Executive Committee (and Electronic Newspaper); 1 print magazine agency under the Provincial Literature and Arts Association (and Electronic Magazine) and 1 Radio - Television Station (1 radio channel, 1 television channel).

Regarding the organization and arrangement of press agencies in Nghe An province, it has been associated with innovation of organizational models, improving the effectiveness of press leadership and management, aiming to build a number of key press agencies as the core in providing information, playing a role in orienting public opinion and ensuring foreign information tasks.
Arranging press agencies is associated with clearly defining the leadership and press management responsibilities of Party committees at all levels, authorities, State press management agencies, especially the heads of the managing agencies and press agencies.

According to the results announced by the Press Department, Ministry of Information and Communications, Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Radio and Television Station were both ranked excellent in terms of maturity in digital transformation of journalism in 2024.
On April 6, 2023, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 348/QD-TTg approving the Strategy "Digital transformation of journalism to 2025, with a vision to 2030". This is a significant event in creating an important premise for the development orientation of press agencies in the digital transformation process.
Digital transformation of the press aims to build press agencies in a professional, humane, and modern direction; fulfill the mission of information and propaganda to serve the revolutionary cause of the Party and the cause of national innovation; ensure the role of leading and orienting public opinion, maintaining information sovereignty in cyberspace; effectively innovate readers' experiences; create new sources of revenue; promote the development of the digital content industry.
