(Baonghean.vn) - Prisoners whose prison terms have been reduced are given clothes, shoes, and travel and living expenses to return home and celebrate Lunar New Year with their families.
On February 1, 2019, Nghe An Provincial Police Detention Center held a ceremony to announce the decision to reduce prison sentences for 41 prisoners.
Of the 41 prisoners whose prison sentences were reduced, 8 had their entire prison terms reduced and returned home to celebrate Tet with their families. The rest had their sentences reduced from 1 month to 6 months.

The prisoners considered for sentence reduction this time have made a lot of progress during their sentence execution, have good reform consciousness, demonstrated by good compliance with detention facility regulations, actively studying and doing reform labor, and must have enough periods of serving their prison sentence with a grade of good or better.
Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Trong Dung - Warden of the Provincial Police Detention Camp said that in order to create conditions for prisoners studying and reforming at the camp to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet, in addition to increasing food rations during Tet, the Prison Warden Board also plans to organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities... to create a joyful and healthy atmosphere.
Prisoners whose sentences are reduced are given clothes, shoes, travel allowances, and living expenses to return to their families. We hope they will soon reintegrate into the community and become useful members of society.
