Many barriers in developing high-tech application industry
(Baonghean) - Currently, in Nghe An, there are a number of enterprises applying high technology in production, however, there are not yet the types of enterprises, projects and high-tech products as expected.
Initial efforts
According to experts, in Nghe An, there are a number of areas that have been improved and applied high technology in cement production, beverages, mining, mineral processing, refined sugar, electricity production and supply, MDF plywood production...
Typically, in beverage production, businesses have focused on applying high-tech equipment to produce products that meet technical standards in accordance with legal regulations. For example: TH truemilk milk processing factory of TH Group uses Europe's leading sterilized milk processing technology (Tetra Pak); Vinamilk milk of Vinamilk Group is equipped with a sterilized fresh milk production line with modern equipment and the most advanced production technology currently imported from European countries.
In August 2017, TH Group held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Nui Tien Pure Water and Fruit Juice Factory in Nghia Son Commune, Nghia Dan District with an investment of 1,177 billion VND on an area of 11.75 hectares with modern technology.

At the same time, the MDF artificial board production project in Nghia Dan district has a capacity of 40,000 m3 of products/year, using modern Swedish technology and equipment lines that meet European standards and are managed according to the ISO 9001-2000 quality system.
The factory's medium strength fiberboard production technology is dry technology, with both sides of the board being the same. This is a standardized, highly automated production line, and the entire production line is controlled by a PLC system.

Hoa Sen Steel Factory, invested by Hoa Sen Nghe An Steel Company Limited with nearly 3,700 billion VND, uses advanced equipment and technology from developed countries with high-tech applications.
Mr. Mai The Anh Minh - Deputy CEO of Hoa Sen Nghe An said: "Since the factory started operating, Hoa Sen Group has focused on applying high technology in production and that helps the company's products meet strict foreign standards. Currently, the factory is implementing regular export orders.
On average, each month, we export from 10 to 16 thousand tons, to key markets such as Europe and America. In the near future, the factory will continue to explore potential markets in the world, such as the Middle East, South Asia,...
To "get ahead" of high-tech investment projects, Nghe An province is interested in building technical infrastructure. According to the Department of Industry and Trade: In addition to the technical infrastructure system of transportation, airports, seaports, etc., many industrial parks and economic zones have been planned and built with quite complete internal infrastructure. Together with the Southeast Economic Zone, VSIP, Hemaraj Group (Thailand) has just signed an agreement to invest and build and operate the infrastructure of Hemaraj Industrial Park - Urban Area. From now until 2020, the whole province will plan and build 6 concentrated industrial parks, creating momentum to attract investors in high-tech industrial fields such as electronics and components manufacturing, precision mechanics and automation equipment, new materials, etc.
Need for synchronization in investment work
However, currently, in the province, there are still many old and outdated technologies and equipment being used in industrial production that consume a lot of energy such as: mineral exploitation and processing, cement and chemical production... causing waste of raw materials and affecting the environment. That raises many issues that need to be addressed from the stage of attracting, approving investment and production practices...
Regarding the tea processing industry, although Nghe An has a large tea area, currently in the area, most of the tea processing facilities are small, with outdated and patchwork technology, and the products are of low and uneven quality. Except for 8 modern black tea processing lines (7 CTC black tea processing lines and 1 OTD black tea processing line) and 12 industrial green tea processing lines mainly of Nghe An Tea Investment and Development Company Limited, Truong Thinh Tea Company, and Rong Phuong Dong Joint Stock Company. The proliferation of small, household-based processing facilities with manual equipment and not ensuring food safety affects the reputation and reduces the overall export value of Nghe An tea industry.

As for the seafood processing industry, apart from two large-scale industrial production enterprises, which are the Royal Food Group's canned fish processing and the Suri fishmeal processing factory, most of them are preliminary processing, freezing for export and processing fish sauce using traditional technology. Industrial activities in the province have gradually become one of the main driving forces contributing to economic and social stability and shifting the economic development structure. The value of industrial production tends to increase gradually every year.
However, compared to the potential advantages of the province and the trend of developing industrial products with high added value and sustainable development, Nghe An industry has not developed to its full potential and the breakthrough is not strong. There are no high-tech enterprises in the province, and it has not created a driving force for synchronous development...
In order for Nghe An to become a fairly developed province in the Northern region, the proportion of industry and construction in GRDP will reach 40% by 2020 as set out in the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress, requiring industries in the area to focus on in-depth development, develop industrial products with high and sustainable added value, and improve the competitiveness of products in the market.
The application of high technology based on the selection of a number of industries according to the list of state priorities and Nghe An province has advantages to develop on the basis of focusing on transferring and attracting high-tech investment from abroad is a positive direction.
At the same time, promote applied research to absorb, innovate and gradually create a number of products with competitive capacity in the international market... All of these goals require the active participation of many stakeholders, from investment attraction, licensing, investment management of authorities at all levels to the awareness of businesses themselves when deciding to invest in the area.
