Many university admission candidates regret choosing the wrong school.
On the day of receiving university admission candidates, many students expressed regret for not enrolling in the school they loved…
On August 15, universities began accepting admitted candidates.
According to VOV.VN reporters, in addition to candidates coming to schools to submit the original 2016 National High School Exam results to the school to determine their studies, there are still candidates coming to schools to get advice on changing their wishes and majors.
Some candidates “regretfully” did not get into their favorite school. That candidate is Pham Minh Tuan, from Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province. In the recent National High School Exam, he scored 20.5 points and wants to study Traffic Engineering at the University of Transport.
However, during the university entrance exam, because he did not clearly understand the wishes and did not regularly update the new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, his first wish was to register for the Traffic Engineering major at Thuy Loi University.
When he knew the admission score, Tuan was admitted to both Thuy Loi University and Transport University, so he felt regretful because his hobby was not satisfied.
Coming to the University of Transport very early, Minh Tuan said: “I feel regretful for not registering for the University of Transport. Just because I did not understand the admission information of the Ministry of Education and Training, I thought I could change my wishes like in 2015, so I registered for the University of Water Resources.
When I found out that I had passed both schools, I didn't change my preference this year, so I regret not registering for the school I wanted. Today, I went to the school to ask the admissions officers if I could change my preference."

Also feeling “regretful”, candidate Nguyen Trung Hieu, from Bac Giang, registered for the Electrical and Electronic Engineering major at the University of Transport, but was also admitted to the Mechatronic Engineering major at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Coming to school feeling disappointed because he did not dare to apply to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Trung Hieu expressed his regret: “If I could change my wishes this year, I would apply to Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Today, when I came to school, I also wanted to ask if I could change my wishes. However, that possibility is very difficult because according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, this year candidates are not allowed to change their wishes and withdraw or submit their applications.”
Expressing regret for candidates who cannot attend their favorite school, a parent in Thai Binh said that candidates in provinces and cities with favorable conditions, smooth Internet connection and widespread Internet cafes have relatively easy access to the new enrollment regulations of the Education sector. However, for candidates in remote areas where the Internet is not widely used, it is difficult to find out and regularly access the latest enrollment information.
This parent recommends that, in order to choose a school and major that matches the candidates' interests and abilities, before the National High School Exam, the Department of Education and Training in localities should distribute the latest documents on this exam and university and college admission regulations to schools. Schools will disseminate them to teachers or post notices for students to know. In addition, high schools should also regularly hold counseling and career guidance sessions for students before they register to choose a school and submit their admission wishes.

Candidates are not allowed to change their admission wishes.
Talking to reporters about many candidates wanting to change their preferences after knowing the admission scores, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Head of the Department of Examination and Education Quality Assessment (University of Transport) said that it is very difficult for candidates to change their preferences from school A to school B because according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, this year candidates are not allowed to withdraw or submit their applications and change their admission preferences. If school B accepts candidates from school A, it is considered a violation of admission regulations, which will cause misunderstandings about competing for candidates.
Therefore, before submitting an application, candidates must carefully consider and calculate to choose a career and school that is suitable for their achieved scores as well as their abilities.
Affirming the regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Testing and Quality Assurance (Ministry of Education and Training) said that the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training clearly state that this year, candidates are not allowed to withdraw or submit applications or change their admission wishes.
This has also been mentioned by many press agencies as well as the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with universities and colleges to organize admissions fairs to inform and answer questions clearly for candidates and parents.
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training also recommends that candidates should carefully consider and consider the benchmark scores of last year to choose a suitable school, career and achieved score. For that reason, candidates who have registered for admission and passed the entrance exam at school A but did not register for admission at school B will not be considered for admission at school B or can change their study wishes at other schools.
If candidates are allowed to change their wishes, it is possible that candidates who have passed the university entrance exam may fail. The regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training are clear and widely disseminated, so candidates who do not carefully consider and choose their career and school must accept their decision./.
