During the investigation, on February 13, District 10 Police coordinated with Vung Tau authorities to summon Quan. He confessed that he had no job and was short of money, so he came up with the idea of ​​deceiving the girls to get their property.

He created a Zalo account with romantic names like: "Because I am the wind", "Love is marriage", "Just Do It"... Quan posted many pictures of partying at luxury bars, nightclubs and expensive cars. To get to know girls, he claimed to be Khoa, a rich kid whose family owned many gold shops.

In early December 2016, after making an appointment to confess his love, Quan borrowed 30 million VND from Ms. Trinh (35 years old, Ben Tre), saying he needed to take care of urgent work and would return home later. Believing her, the woman gave him the money and the two went to "talk".

When Ms. Trinh asked Quan to take her home to find out, he mumbled something. Taking the girl to an alley on Ly Thuong Kiet Street (District 10), he told the victim to get out of the car and suddenly accelerated and ran away.

Using similar tactics, police identified many young women who lost both love and property after becoming friends with the fake rich man. The investigation agency called on victims of this man to come forward.
