Many top universities lack thousands of enrollment targets
Many top universities are short hundreds, even thousands of enrollment quotas, so they have to announce additional enrollment in the next round.
After the first round of university admissions ended, many top universities (with prestige and quality training) announced that they lacked enrollment targets and needed to fill them in the next round of admissions.
For the first time in recent years, Hanoi University of Science and Technology did not recruit enough candidates from the first round, so the school has just announced to recruit nearly 800 additional positions for 26 training majors. The KT12 major group including Mechanical Engineering (mechanical manufacturing and mechanical power), Aeronautical Engineering, and Marine Engineering lacks the most 120 positions with a score of 8 or higher, and Electronics and Communications Engineering lacks 80 positions with a score of 8.3 or higher.
**Hanoi Medical Universityjust announced receiving applications for additional admission round 1 (admission round 2).
Accordingly, Hanoi Medical University will consider recruiting 206 additional students for 8 majors: General Medicine (Thanh Hoa branch), Traditional Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Nutrition, Nursing, Public Health, and Ophthalmology.
**Diplomatic AcademyAnnouncement of the score for receiving additional admission applications of all subject combinations (exam blocks) in training majors must be 21 points or higher. For the English Language major, only block D1 (Math - Literature - English) is considered, with English multiplied by a coefficient of 2, the score for receiving admission applications is 30 points.
Previously, the first round admission standard score to the Diplomatic Academy was the lowest 23.75 points and the highest 25 points. The English Language major had the first round admission standard score of 32 points with English multiplied by a factor of 2.

Academy of Journalism and CommunicationAlso consider recruiting more than 500 additional quotas for 18 majors because the first round of recruitment was not enough. The minimum score for receiving applications for the majors of International Relations, Public Relations, Advertising, and English Language is based on the results of the national high school exam according to each announced combination, which is 28 points, including priority points for subjects, regions, and English subject, with a coefficient of 2. The remaining majors and majors receive applications from 16.5 points or higher, with a coefficient of 1, including priority points for subjects and regions.
This year, the Ministry of Education and Training allows candidates to register for up to 4 majors at 2 schools in the first round of admission. Many candidates with high scores are admitted to both universities, so the virtual ratio is very large. According to Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga, to ensure the rights of candidates, schools must accept the virtual ratio.
Statistics at the time of closing the database for schools to download data for admission showed that 396,496 candidates had registered for 602,747 schools. Thus, about 75% of candidates registered for admission to two schools at the same time in the first round. Virtual candidates are inevitable.
The first round of additional admissions will take place from August 21 to 31. During this round, candidates can register for up to 3 schools, each school with no more than 2 majors, and cannot change their preferences. The school will announce the admission results before September 4./.
