Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, a farmer, said that his family grew 8 sao of corn in the Lam River alluvial plain. He thought that this year, with less rain and floods, he would have an income, but unexpectedly, the floods in the past few days have caused his family's 4 sao of corn to be deeply submerged in water. "The corn has been submerged in water for the past 2 days. If it continues to rain and the flooding continues in the coming days, the corn will die," Mr. Nguyen Van Duc worried.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam - Vice Chairman of Tuong Son Commune People's Committee said that up to now, the locality has planted 125 hectares of various winter crops, mostly corn. However, this heavy rain has flooded nearly 50 hectares in hamlets 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.
"Now that the rain has reduced, the commune is propagating and mobilizing farmers to dredge ditches and drain all the water in the fields as the water recedes, then actively take care of winter crops," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam.
Not only crops are affectedflooded, traffic at some points was congested due to heavy rain. On Highway 534C, connecting Anh Son town to Veu village of Phuc Son commune, there were 2 overflow points with water above the knees, the water flowed rapidly, making vehicles not dare to pass.

In addition, some sections of National Highway 7A have also been flooded. To ensure traffic safety, the district has assigned functional forces and local authorities to guard and guide people to travel safely.
According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Anh Son district, as of noon today, September 27, the whole district had 60 houses flooded with water 1 meter deep, 76 households had their houses eroded, more than 340 hectares of various crops were flooded; 305 hectares of aquaculture ponds were flooded; 404 meters of roads were flooded and some electrical works were damaged.
In Con Cuong district, the floodwaters causing traffic jams also occurred locally in many places. Mr. Lo Van Ly - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Con Cuong district said: Through inspections in some localities, it was found that some overflow points in Mon Son, Luc Da, and Thach Ngan communes were isolated due to deep floodwaters. Con Cuong district has directed localities to assign forces to guard, not allowing people to pass through, causing traffic insecurity. Regarding other damages to people, localities are conducting statistics.
Tan Ky district is a locality with many overflows, so during this heavy rain, dozens of overflows were deeply flooded. Mr. Le Viet Quy - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tan Ky district said: On the morning of September 27, almost all the overflows were deeply flooded, so people's travel was difficult. In addition, at many weak traffic points, overflowing water also caused erosion and damage to the road surface.
