* From July 23rd to July 30th, Nghe An Newspaper received the following complaints, denunciations, and suggestions:
- Mr. Nguyen Doan Chu, residing at Block 15, Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City, filed a complaint:The couple's family is a beneficiary of government policies; the husband, wife, and son are receiving state assistance. In 1988, the government created a map and allocated a 1,000m2 garden plot to the family for management and use. After two instances of land acquisition for road construction and ensuring traffic safety corridors, the government reclaimed 800m2 from the family, but only compensated for the house and crops on the land, not for the residential land itself.
- Mr. Nguyen Van Luc, a resident of Trung Dong block, Hung Dung ward, Vinh City, filed a complaint:His daughter used the land use rights certificate in his name as collateral to borrow 400 million VND from Mr. Hue and Ms. Duong. In May 2013, without consulting the family, Mr. Hue and his wife proceeded to transfer the land ownership from their father to their own family.
- Citizens of Hung Dung ward, Vinh City, have filed a complaint:Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Director of the Vinh City Social Labor Education Center, abused his position and authority to violate state regulations in education management.
- Mr. Nguyen Ba Ngoc, residing in Hamlet 13, Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City, sent a letter to Nghe An Newspaper with the following content:
On April 8, 2013, on behalf of 10 out of 11 households in hamlets 12 and 13 of Nghi Phu commune (Vinh City) whose agricultural land was confiscated for the Minh Khang Co., Ltd. Medical Complex, Supermarket, and Housing Project, I sent a complaint to Nghe An Newspaper regarding the delay in compensation and support for land clearance during the implementation of the Minh Khang Co., Ltd. Medical Complex, Supermarket, and Housing Project (with a branch at 54 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Le Loi Ward, Vinh City).
On April 24, 2013, Nghe An Newspaper published an article titled "Relevant parties need to fulfill their responsibilities" by author Duc Chuyen, urging authorities at all levels to consider and resolve citizens' complaints.
On May 29, 2013, the People's Committee of Nghi Phu commune held a meeting to resolve the issue. At this meeting, representatives of Minh Khang Co., Ltd. and representatives of 11 households reached an agreement on compensation for the households whose land was confiscated. By June 15, 2013, Minh Khang Co., Ltd. had paid compensation to 10 out of 11 households in hamlets 12 and 13 of Nghi Phu commune (only Mr. Cong from hamlet 12 did not receive compensation due to his involvement in a complaint related to the 72m road project). Today, on behalf of the 10 households, I would like to express my gratitude to Nghe An Newspaper, its Editorial Board, the author, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the People's Committee of Vinh City, Nghi Phu commune, Minh Khang Co., Ltd., and all relevant departments for their attention and resolution of our complaint in the shortest possible time after the issue was reported by Nghe An Newspaper.
