Night robbery group in Vinh city caught

(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City Police clarified that during the end of March and the beginning of April 2015, Dang Van Tu's group committed 8 robberies in Vinh City.

On April 17, Colonel Mai Chien Thang (Deputy Chief of Vinh City Police, Nghe An), said that he had prosecuted and temporarily detained Dang Van Tu (23 years old), Pham Dinh An (19 years old) and Luong Van Thang (21 years old), all residing in Nghi Loc District (Nghe An) for the crime of Robbery.

According to Colonel Mai Chien Thang, in late March and early April 2015, Vinh City police received many reports from victims of robberies in which valuables such as expensive phones, wallets, jewelry, etc. were taken. The climax was on the night of April 31st and early morning of April 1st, when two robberies occurred in the area. Two victims, a student and a young man, reported that while they were walking, a group of robbers on a motorbike approached them with a knife and robbed them of their money and phones.

After a period of collecting evidence, in early April 2015, the police issued an arrest warrant for Dang Van Tu (born in 1992), Dang Van Tu (23 years old), Pham Dinh An (born in 1996) and Luong Van Thang (born in 1994), all residing in Nghi Loc district, were arrested in turn.

At the investigation agency, all three stated that Tu, who had a criminal record, was the leader and formed accomplices, who were young acquaintances with criminal records, to form a robbery group. Tu and his accomplices stated that they still worked as construction workers and laborers during the day, but because they lacked money, they robbed at night.

Police clarified that during the end of March and the beginning of April, Tu's group committed a total of 8 robberies by riding motorbikes, carrying weapons, covering their faces and license plates. When they discovered their "prey" walking on deserted streets late at night, they would attack. When they had robbed property, they would pawn it, divide the money, and invite each other to go out drinking at the beach.
