Nighttime robbery gang in Vinh City apprehended.

(Baonghean.vn) - The Vinh City Police Department has clarified that during the end of March and beginning of April 2015, Dang Van Tu's group committed 8 robberies in Vinh City.

On April 17, Colonel Mai Chien Thang (Deputy Chief of Police of Vinh City, Nghe An province) announced that Dang Van Tu (23 years old), Pham Dinh An (19 years old), and Luong Van Thang (21 years old), all residing in Nghi Loc district (Nghe An province), have been charged and temporarily detained for robbery.

According to Colonel Mai Chien Thang, in late March and early April 2015, Vinh City police received numerous reports from victims of robberies where they were held hostage and robbed of expensive phones, wallets, and jewelry. The situation peaked on the night of March 31st and the early morning of April 1st, when two robberies occurred consecutively in the area. Two victims, a student and a young man, reported that they were walking when a group of robbers on motorcycles approached them, threatened them with knives, and stole their money and phones.

After a period of gathering evidence, in early April 2015, the police issued arrest warrants for Dang Van Tu (born in 1992), Dang Van Tu (23 years old), Pham Dinh An (born in 1996), and Luong Van Thang (born in 1994), all residing in Nghi Loc district, who were subsequently arrested urgently.

At the police station, all three confessed that Tu, who already had a criminal record, was the ringleader, forming a gang of young men they knew, all with criminal records. Tu and his accomplices stated that they worked as construction laborers and factory workers during the day but lacked money, so they resorted to robbing at night.

Police clarified that, during the end of March and the beginning of April, Tu's group committed a total of 8 robberies using motorcycles, carrying weapons, wearing masks, and concealing license plates. They would rob victims on deserted roads late at night. After stealing the property, they would pawn it, divide the money, and then go out drinking and eating at beaches.
