We visited the flower village in Tran Phu hamlet (Block 1 – Yen Thanh District Town), where vast fields of colorful flowers were bursting with bloom, and buyers and sellers bustled about. The atmosphere was brimming with the spirit of spring. Dao Van Tuan, the owner of a flower garden, excitedly said: “This year the weather has been favorable, and all the gardens have yielded a bountiful harvest. The best part is that flower prices have doubled compared to last year's Tet. My family grows 3 sao (approximately 0.3 hectares) of flowers, mainly chrysanthemums. This Tet season, each sao brings in over 50 million dong, ten times more than farming, and requires very little effort.”

Currently, there are hundreds of households growing flowers in Yen Thanh, but the highest concentration is in the town center and surrounding communes such as Hoa Thanh and Van Thanh. Some families earn hundreds of millions of dong, such as the families of Mr. Loi, Mr. Thao, and Mr. Tuan in the town center…

Flower villages on rice paddies not only break the monoculture system and create a decent income for farmers, but also bring a spring-like beauty to the rice-growing region of Yen Thanh.
