(Baonghean.vn) - In recent years, many households in Dinh Son, Cam Son, Tuong Son communes of Anh Son district have found a new direction for themselves, which is to buy corn for preliminary processing and sell to all provinces and cities in the country. This is the season to buy Laotian corn, so the working atmosphere in the factories is very urgent and bustling.

In 2009, his family invested over 100 million to build an agricultural processing and collection workshop of over 300 square meters.2and bought 2 trucks worth over 1 billion VND specializing in purchasing corn from Laos and neighboring areas to import and sell everywhere.
The annual crop season starts from September of the previous year to March of the following year, every 2-3 days he imports a batch, on average each month his family buys from 600 - 800 tons. Currently, he buys corn for 4.6 million VND/ton, then imports it at 5.1 million VND/ton. After deducting expenses, his family earns over 20 million VND in profit each month. Not only does he have a stable income, but his family also creates jobs for 15-20 workers in many stages from loading, drying, and packaging.

The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen in Ha Du village, Cam Son commune is one of the major agricultural product purchasing agents in Anh Son district. Ms. Yen said: Her family has been in the corn purchasing business for more than 10 years now, from a small-scale agent, initially only purchasing small quantities from people in the commune, now her family has purchased the entire district, including districts such as Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son.
During this time, the family is purchasing corn from Laos to supply to agents throughout the province. Each day, the family imports about 25 tons of corn, and more than 100 tons. Each year, the family purchases 4,000 tons of corn kernels, creating regular jobs for 20 workers, with wages ranging from 300,000 to 400,000 VND per person per day. After deducting expenses, the family earns a profit of 100 to 150 million VND per year.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Vice Chairman of Cam Son Commune People's Committee said: Currently, in Cam Son Commune alone, there are 6 large agents purchasing agricultural products, mainly corn. In addition to expanding the purchasing market to Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Ky Son districts and even Laos.
In recent years, agents in the commune have also directly purchased products for 220 hectares of corn growing area of the commune, so people are very secure in the output stage of the products. This not only shows that farmers are quick to respond to market demand but also contributes greatly to the overall economic development of the commune. In recent years, Cam Son has had an average growth rate of 13.2% per year. The income value of the agricultural sector reached over 85 billion VND, reaching 99.48% of the plan.

Currently, Anh Son's corn area is stable at about 3,000 hectares per crop, with an output of over 30,000 tons/year. Finding an outlet for corn is always a problem for the people, local authorities and related sectors.
According to statistics, in Anh Son district, there are currently over 20 large corn purchasing facilities concentrated in Dinh Son, Cam Son, and Tuong Son communes. The appearance of purchasing workshops has facilitated farmers in bringing agricultural products to the market, stabilizing prices, improving crop quality and productivity, creating motivation for people to enthusiastically expand the area and invest in intensive corn cultivation in the district.
