(Baonghean) - Due to the hot and humid weather, people are rushing to buy cooling appliances to "cool down," especially air conditioners, mist fans, and evaporative coolers... therefore, this market is very lucrative for sellers.

A market survey in Vinh City revealed over 40 stores, shops, and supermarkets selling refrigeration equipment. Generally, this year's market for cooling appliances is quite diverse and abundant, with prices not increasing significantly compared to the same period last year. Currently, the two best-selling items are refrigerators and air conditioners. For refrigerators, the price range for budget brands like Funiki and Midea is between 4 and 6 million VND, while high-end brands like Hitachi, Panasonic, or Toshiba cost over 10 million VND per product. For air conditioners, the average price range is around 7-15 million VND, allowing customers to own a satisfactory product. A notable breakthrough this year is Daikin's launch of a line of air conditioners using refrigerants that are highly energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.

Through inquiries at shops in the Vinh market area, it was found that air conditioners from Thailand and Malaysia are the most popular due to their reasonable prices and relatively good durability. Meanwhile, joint venture products from Vietnam, such as Funiki Hoa Phap, although about 25% cheaper than other brands, are not favored by customers.

Speaking with Mr. Nguyen Huy Son, owner of Huong Son store at Vinh market, he said: “While last year misting fans and evaporative coolers were popular choices, this year humidifiers are dominating the market. On average, the store sells dozens of units daily, including both retail and wholesale.” Observations at stores selling these humidifiers show that prices range from 300,000 to 500,000 VND per unit, with diverse designs and origins from China.

However, Mr. Nguyen Van Tri, the owner of another retail outlet in Vinh Market, shared: "These humidifiers have lower durability compared to misting fans and evaporative coolers, as they often show signs of malfunction after only the second or third season."

To stimulate consumer demand, major electronics retailers have boosted pre- and post-sales services such as special discount hours, installment plans, and gifts with purchases. In addition, recognizing the consumer trend favoring high-tech, energy-efficient products, these retailers are focusing on displaying and introducing high-end product lines.

At BigC Vinh supermarket, Mr. Nguyen Manh Thanh, a manager of the refrigeration section, said: “This year, Samsung and Daikin products are selling well because of their attractive designs and energy-saving features. Prices haven't fluctuated much either.” At An Thinh supermarket (Tran Phu Street - Vinh City), the center sells 30 to 50 cooling devices every day. In addition to selling within the city, the supermarket also distributes to districts and towns, with 200 products sold daily. The main distribution points are Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau…”.

In Hoang Mai town, the market for home appliances is quite bustling. Here, budget-friendly products dominate over high-end models, with refrigerators being the best-selling item. Sanyo refrigerators, priced at an average of 5 million VND, are particularly popular among locals. Besides their relatively affordable price, these refrigerators also offer odor removal and energy efficiency. At a store in Quynh Xuan ward, Mr. Tran Duc Toan, the owner, said: “Since the beginning of the hot season, the store has sold nearly 100 refrigerators and air conditioners. Many customers who bought air conditioners also bought fans because using only air conditioners consumes a lot of electricity.”

Regarding the fan market, evaporative coolers have an average price of 2 to 2.3 million VND per unit, while misting fans are more affordable, ranging from 1.5 to 1.9 million VND. The most popular models are the Kangaroo pedestal fan, the Sunhouse misting fan, and the Asia standing fan. Many families choose these cooling fans to save electricity and meet the flexible needs of smaller spaces. The market for cooling devices is quite diverse and abundant; however, after-sales service is also a concern for consumers. Genuine products typically have a dedicated warranty team to ensure after-sales service.

It's worth noting that everyone buying refrigeration equipment runs the risk of purchasing counterfeit or low-quality goods. Therefore, the best way to protect your rights is to buy from reputable stores with clearly stated origins, warranties, and valid invoices. Additionally, when buying, you should agree with the seller that if you notice any problems shortly after purchase, you should consider exchanging or returning the goods promptly.
