| The collection bears Thuy Nguyen’s personal mark in honoring Asian values. It includes yếm (ao yem), silk pants, and head scarves that imitate the crow-beak scarves of Vietnamese women. But instead of continuing to use brocade, she chose silk and beading techniques to make the costumes different. Hand-painted motifs, imitating children’s scribbles, bring a lively touch to the costumes. |
