(Baonghean.vn) - While sports tournaments have not been able to take place as originally planned due to Covid-19, high-performance athletes in Nghe An are still working hard to prepare for important tournaments in the region as well as nationwide in the near future.
From April 1, all athletes at the Nghe An Sports Training and Training Center stopped training and returned to their families to follow the Government's directive. The coaches also provided appropriate training plans for athletes to practice at home. Immediately after the "social distancing" period ended, Nghe An athletes returned to normal training. A typical weightlifter of Nghe An, Pham Thi Hong Thanh (gold medalist of SEA Games 30), is currently training at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi. In the next few days, Hong Thanh will return to Nghe An to prepare for domestic tournaments before starting the campaign at SEA Games 31. Photo: NVCC
The training atmosphere at Pencak Silat is equally enthusiastic. Most of the disciplines maintain two training sessions, early in the morning before school and in the afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Photo: Trung Kien

According to the coaches, the change in the competition schedule also forces them to recalculate the preparation process as well as the peak performance of the athletes. If nothing changes, it is likely that domestic sports tournaments will return from next June. This is a period that requires athletes to have high concentration and not be subjective. In Traditional Martial Arts and Boxing, athletes were able to practice and play freely on the 5th day because during the previous days, they had to go through stressful professional training sessions. Photo: Trung Kien

After days of intense training, Coach Dang Dinh Hung entertained his athletes with recreational activities such as handball and volleyball. Photo: Trung Kien
Practicing "on the run" for a long time without competing can easily affect the athletes' psychology and breaks like this are extremely precious. Photo: Trung Kien
In other subjects, after playing recreational games, the children participated in cleaning up outside the Training Center. Photo: Trung Kien
This "training method" is certainly not in the lesson plan, but it will also help students have useful breaks and raise awareness of environmental protection. Photo: Trung Kien
In 2020, Nghe An will host 4 national tournaments including Chess, Petanque, Shuttlecock and National Kick-boxing. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, only the 2020 Central Region Age Group Chess Tournament was successfully held at the beginning of the year. The remaining 3 tournaments that Nghe An is expected to host are still waiting for plans from the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.
Currently, there are a total of 11 Nghe An athletes participating in the national team as well as youth teams such as Nguyen Van Dai (Taekwondo), Nguyen Van Huynh (Pencat Silat), Nguyen Thi Nhung - Dinh Van Nhu (Wrestling), Ngo Thi Duyen - Bui Thi Anh (Septaparna), Le Van Quyen (Wushu), Nguyen Dinh Vu (Athletics)...
(Baonghean.vn) - With the appearance of young and potential athletes such as Nguyen Van Dai, Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, Pham Thi Quynh Trang, Taekwondo Nghe An continues to bring success at the 2019 National Taekwondo Championship for Strong Clubs.
