Nghe An province has a fairly large system of rivers and streams, including many large rivers such as Lam River, Lach Van River (Dien Chau), Mo River (Quynh Luu)...

In localities where there were previously no solid bridges, people had to cross the river by ferry, or had to walk on dilapidated bridges where safety risks were always lurking.

Faced with the above situation, in recent years, with the attention of the State as well as support from programs and projects, Nghe An has been building many key bridges to facilitate trade and travel of people.

Typically, Cung ferry is an important traffic route, the travel needs of people at both ends are very large. There has been no bridge connecting Cat Van commune (Thanh Chuong) and Trung Son commune (Do Luong) for a long time. Every day, people have to travel on ferries with many dangers lurking.

But people are excited that since 2023, the Do Cung bridge project has received capital investment from the State for construction, with a total investment of over 178 billion VND. The Do Cung bridge project is 420m long and 9m wide. The starting point of the bridge is at Km111+530 National Highway 46C, Cat Van commune, Thanh Chuong district, the ending point of the bridge is at Km55+160 National Highway 46B, Trung Son commune, Do Luong district.

Mr. Tran Minh Luong in Cat Van commune, Thanh Chuong district shared: We are very excited to be able to walk on the new bridge that I and the people here have always dreamed of. The bridge will help us more conveniently travel, trade, and exchange goods between Cat Ngan and Do Luong district, no longer having to cross the river by ferry like before.

Also in 2025, Quynh Luu district will put into use Quynh Nghia bridge across Mo river, a vital bridge serving the communes in the coastal alluvial area, replacing the old bridge which is seriously degraded and at risk of being unsafe. At the same time, in order to meet the requirements of developing synchronous traffic infrastructure in the area, creating a main coastal traffic axis, opening up new space to promote the socio-economic development of the district.

Quynh Nghia Bridge project, 269m long, is designed to be permanently built with 6 spans, 5 pillars and 2 abutments, with a total investment of 150 billion VND for construction items. It is expected that the bridge will be put into use in 2025.

According to the Department of Transport's report, from 2020 to now, with combined capital sources, such as World Bank (WB) capital, new rural capital, and Vietnam Road Administration capital, Nghe An has 250 bridges built and completed, putting into use many large bridges such as Thanh Nam bridge across Lam river, connecting the town with the left bank of Lam river in Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district, Lach Van bridge, Dien Chau...

The completed bridges have created favorable conditions for people to travel, produce, and transport goods and agricultural products. At this time, Nghe An is actively implementing the construction of a series of key bridges, such as Nghi Quang Bridge (Nghi Loc), Lach Quen Bridge (Quynh Luu), Do Cung Bridge (Do Luong), Quynh Nghia Bridge (Quynh Luu) ...

It is expected to be put into use in 2025, both adding modernity and dynamism to the homeland and connecting key economic regions, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Nghe An to become increasingly prosperous.

In the coming time, Nghe An will continue to build Ben Thuy 3 bridge connecting Vinh city (Nghe An) and Nghi Xuan district (Ha Tinh). This is one of the projects included in the list of priority investment projects for the period 2021 - 2030 using the State budget.

Thus, when implemented, Ben Thuy 3 Bridge will become the third bridge connecting the provincial center of Nghe An with the northern district of Ha Tinh; thereby creating more momentum to connect the North Central region, especially the Southern Nghe An - Northern Ha Tinh region.
