"Puzzling" instructions for road users on National Highway 48C
(Baonghean.vn) - The instructions on some numbered columns on National Highway 48C (Nghe An) are misleading, and the management unit's review and repair are not close to reality.
On November 6, 2018, traveling on National Highway 48C through the communes of Tam Quang and Yen Thang, Tuong Duong district, less than 10 km, we discovered errors in the instructions on the number post.

On the kilometer 106 column, it says: “Quy Hop 106 km”. According to common understanding, this location is 106 km from Quy Hop district (Nghe An). However, when going back to kilometer 102, the column says: “Quy Hop 91 km”. While in reality, these two columns are only 4 km apart. According to the “logic” of the instructions, the distance between the two columns km 102 and km 106 is 15 km (?).
At kilometer 97 of this national highway, it says: "Quy Hop 81 km". While this kilometer is exactly 9 km from kilometer 106.
Meanwhile, the 105 km post in Canh Tang village, Yen Thang commune (Tuong Duong) lies abandoned in a drainage ditch. A local resident said the post fell nearly half a year ago.

Through discussion, Mr. Ha Sy Phuc - Head of Traffic Management Department, Road Management Department 2 said: "Recently, National Highway 48, the calculation of Km 0 was changed from Tam Quang commune (Tuong Duong) to Quy Hop district, so there were some errors. The unit has repaired and fixed them, but the errors in some locations have not been eliminated. We will continue to check and survey to fix them, to avoid misunderstandings for road users".
