Controversial and confusing details in the final episode of 'Love the Sunny Days'
Although the ending of the movie "Love on the Sunny Day" is considered quite complete and humane, there are still some confusing and controversial details.
The film “Thuong ngay nang ve” by director Bui Tien Huy ended after a total of 87 episodes. It can be said that this is one of the films that received the most attention and positive feedback from fans. Especially in the last episodes, the film caused strong emotions about maternal love when Nga’s mother (Meritorious Artist Thanh Quy) suddenly suffered from old age.
On forums specializing in Vietnamese films, thousands of comments were left by audiences wishing that “Mother Nga could live on”. Because according to the original, the Korean version of “Mother of Mine”, the mother character passed away in her sleep and in the arms of her daughters.
However, the majority of the audience believes that letting Nga's mother pass away is too cruel and painful. Because Nga's mother struggled all her life to raise 3 children and a silly, foolish younger brother. Not only was the financial burden placed on her small shoulders, Nga's mother had to endure enough grievances and resentment to protect and shelter her children.
The most breathtaking scene in the final episode was when Nga’s mother was found unconscious on her bed and rushed to the hospital. This was also a controversial detail when the film ended.
Specifically, Nga's mother was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage by the doctor, with a poor prognosis. However, the emergency room was poorly equipped, and the doctor worked slowly while the patient was in a critical condition. In addition, the emergency room was equipped with transparent glass doors so that relatives could see in from the outside, which was completely unreasonable.

“No hospital has designed an emergency room with transparent glass doors like that. The scriptwriter must have underestimated the audience in this detail”; “Defibrillation without taking off the shirt”, “Emergency but the doctor speaks slowly, standing there looking at the patient. No patient whose SpO2 drops to 0 doesn’t quickly prepare to intubate or squeeze the bag while still breathing oxygen”, “The doctor’s emergency actions look like a performance and not very realistic”… are questions from the audience on the film’s fanpage.
Right after the emergency scene for Mrs. Nga, the film switches to one year later. The first scene of this period is the scene where Mr. Vuong (Ba Anh) and his wife are taking over the bun rieu restaurant for Mrs. Nga.

In this scene, Mo (Luu Huyen Trang) looks sad as she talks to Mr. Tien - Mrs. Nga's close neighbor - about the events that have happened to her family over the past time. When Mr. Tien exclaims: "How fast, it's already the anniversary", Mo also tearfully replies: "Time flies so fast".
The conversation between these two characters made the audience speculate that Mrs. Nga had passed away a year ago. However, on the anniversary of her death, when her siblings, children and grandchildren gathered before the altar, Mrs. Nga walked out without a care. It turned out that it was all a trick and Mrs. Nga was saved in that life-and-death moment.

Looking back at the plot of the conversation between Mr. Tien and Mo, many viewers said that the dialogue of these two characters was redundant and forced. “Maybe the screenwriter wanted to change the direction to increase the drama of the film, so he created such easily misunderstood dialogues”; “If it was Mr. Mau’s death anniversary, no one would say “it’s been a while but it’s already the death anniversary”; “a year has passed so quickly” because Mr. Mau passed away a long time ago”; “The 1-year timeline is calculated from when Ms. Nga went to the emergency room, it’s impossible to insert a year later to coincide with Mr. Mau’s death anniversary. This plot is too forced and difficult to understand”… are some comments from the audience.

In addition, another minus point in the final episode of “Thuong ngay nang ve” is the appearance of Hoang Duy (Dinh Tu) on his wedding day. Hoang Duy wearing colored glasses on his own big day caused quite a bit of controversy. Many viewers think that this should have been a rather emotional scene in the film because after many events and ups and downs, Trang and Duy officially got married. While Trang (Huyen Lizzie) had tears in her eyes, saying emotional words to the groom, Hoang Duy could not clearly express his emotions through his eyes. This made fans feel regretful and wonder why this character chose such an appearance: “The groom was handsome throughout the film, but on the big day, he wore sunglasses”; “The glasses were so awkward”; “I have never seen a wedding where the groom wore sunglasses like this”; “The groom wearing colored glasses ruined the solemnity of the wedding. Watching it made all the emotions go down”…

Besides, the fact that Nga's mother did not appear on stage on Van Trang's wedding day caused a lot of regret. Because compared to Van Trang's biological mother, Nga's mother not only raised her but also loved her like her own child. Although Nga's mother is no longer lucid, she does not act foolishly. Moreover, on Van Van's (Ngoc Huyen) book launch day, Nga's mother still appeared next to her daughter. Therefore, there is no reason why Nga's mother would just sit below like a normal guest on Van Trang's happy day.
Finally, the detail of Mong Mo doing a DNA test on her daughter to determine her bloodline with Vuong and being congratulated by other family members is considered inhumane. From the beginning, Mrs. Nga's family always considered Van Tho as their grandchild, although Mong Mo was still skeptical. Anyway, this is a sensitive matter between Vuong and Mo and should not be celebrated as something to be happy about.
Although there are still some flaws, it cannot be denied that "Thuong ngay nang ve" is a Vietnamese TV series that is loved by a large audience.
