MU's hard-won but highly effective victories
A narrow victory came from mixed doubts, MU quietly rose up, moving forward. Still full of uncertainties, but vitality and belief returned to MU from the most difficult circumstances.
1.MU won again. And it was a 1-0 victory. It was similar to the way the Red Devils had previously defeated Fulham. It was the 4th win in the last 5 matches in the Premier League. Thanks to 12 points after 5 matches, MU quietly surpassed the mid-table group. After 12 rounds, they are in 6th place, breathing hot into the Top 4 when they are only 6 points behind the two leading positions.
Hopes have opened up at Old Trafford after a few days of sadness. MU lost 0-3 to Man City in the derby of honor and pride in Manchester. MU was eliminated by Newcastle in the League Cup with the same score. Most recently, they were like a wounded beast when they lost bitterly 3-4 to Copenhagen in the Champions League. After this defeat, the door to continue in the most prestigious tournament in Europe is gradually closing for MU.
Therefore, the victory over Luton was like a catalyst, dispelling the gloomy atmosphere hovering over Old Trafford. MU may not have won convincingly, not creating as much inspiration as Man City or Arsenal, but at least, they pocketed 3 points with slow but steady steps. If the result is the last thing mentioned, then surely MU has achieved the maximum goal.
2.When MU lost 3-4 to Copenhagen, Erik ten Hag faced tremendous pressure. Leading football experts in England, including former MU players, affirmed that the Dutch coach was not qualified enough to lead a team like the Red Devils. They said that Ten Hag's football was old-fashioned and no longer suitable for the ever-changing world of football.
In response to these comments, Ten Hag just quietly went about his work. He understood that the best answer was the results on the pitch. For a club to succeed, the only way was to be calm and persistent in what they were trying to do. MU may be unlucky, may not have outstanding stars, but Ten Hag is still trying. He plays the role of a "welder", doing everything he can to have the best frame in the context of sweeping injuries.
The results say it all. The important points and the way back to the Top 4 are open. If MU can maintain the current stability, they can be completely confident, pursuing more practical goals instead of living like "dreamers" with imaginary cakes that will never come true. MU's board of directors understands this and that is why they are still persistent with Ten Hag, creating the best conditions for him to continue his work.
3.Ten Hag has relieved himself of the pressure with a few wins. But he still has a lot of work ahead of him. Ten Hag will have to ignite the attack when Rasmus Hojlund has failed to score in the Premier League. Besides, Ten Hag also needs to have a therapy to awaken the killer instinct of Rashford, who has lost his inspiration to play football for the past 2 months.
In defence, the injury storm forced Ten Hag to use the once disastrous centre-back duo of Maguire and Lindelof. They scored to help MU win. But to go a long way, Ten Hag must have more options. While Varane and Lisandro Martinez are struggling with injuries, maybe MU will strengthen at least one more classy centre-back this winter. When they have a deeper squad, when the stars find their inherent inspiration to play, Ten Hag will confidently say that MU is ready to stand up for another start, even though this start is not too early for people to dream.
