Active sports collaborators in Nghe An
In recent years, the achievements of both grassroots and high-performance sports have benefited greatly from the contributions of responsible, passionate, and dedicated sports collaborators.
Outstanding individuals
Formerly a diving athlete at the Nghe An Sports Training and Competition Center, and now a physical education teacher at Hung Chinh Secondary School, Ngo Van Doan has been one of the active collaborators of the Vinh City sports sector for many years.
Since 2017, he has been invited to coach the city's swimming team participating in age group swimming competitions."The Green Track"Nghe An province has won first place overall every year. Also under the training of Mr. Ngo Van Doan, at the swimming competitions organized by the Department of Education and Training, the Vinh City swimming team has always ranked first in terms of the number of participating students and the achievements attained.

"Although he's not a sports official, whenever the city organizes a swimming event, Mr. Doan always participates enthusiastically, whether as a coach or a referee," said Mr. Tran Anh Duc, a sports officer at the Vinh City Center for Culture, Sports and Communication.
As a teacher at Thanh Tho Secondary School and the Head of the Physical Education Department of the Anh Son District Education and Training Department, Mr. Vo Thanh Hung is a familiar face at competitions in Phuc Son commune and Anh Son district, serving as a member of the organizing committee and a referee. In addition, he is also a coach for Anh Son district teams participating in provincial-level competitions in stick pushing and tug-of-war.
"Despite my busy teaching schedule, I always make time, arrange my work, and do my best to support sports activities whenever the commune or district needs me," Hung confided.

Not only in grassroots sports, but also in high-performance sports, sports collaborators make a significant contribution as they are the first to discover and introduce outstanding sports talents to sports organizations at all levels for training and development to participate in competitions.
For example, in Yen Thanh district, Mr. Tran Minh Chau is an active collaborator who has discovered and introduced outstanding players to the Yen Thanh district's football teams to participate in the Nghe An Newspaper Cup Youth and Children's Football Tournament, including the youth teams of SLNA Club and women's football clubs nationwide.
In Hung Nguyen district, martial arts master Tran Van Bien was also trusted and collaborated with the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center in searching for and training Vovinam athletes, with outstanding individuals such as Lang Van Huynh and Nguyen Hai Lam…
"The extended arm" of the Culture and Sports sector.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuong, Head of the Sports Management Department (Department of Culture and Sports), stated that, recognizing the crucial role of sports collaborators, the Department of Culture and Sports has paid close attention to developing this team: “Currently, each Cultural, Information and Communication Center only has 2-3 dedicated sports officers; each commune, ward, or town only has one cultural and sports officer who handles multiple tasks. Therefore, relying solely on this team is insufficient to meet the requirements of developing the sports movement at the grassroots level. Encouraging and mobilizing sports collaborators is therefore essential.”
To date, the province has nearly 1,790 sports collaborators, considered the "extended arms" of cultural and sports agencies and units, playing a crucial and indispensable role in developing local sports. They work in various professions, such as physical education teachers in schools, former athletes, demobilized soldiers in the locality, or simply people who love sports and have the knowledge and ability to share it with the people...
With their knowledge and experience, many sports collaborators have taken the lead in the socialization of physical education and sports, investing in facilities and establishing sports clubs to serve the needs of the people. Through attracting, mobilizing, establishing, and guiding the establishment of many sports clubs, and directly training to serve the training needs of the people, sports collaborators have contributed to increasing the total number of sports clubs in the province to over 920. This has promoted the development of mass physical education and sports at the grassroots level, bringing the percentage of people regularly participating in physical education and sports in the province to 35.8%, and the percentage of sports-participating families to 25% by the end of 2023.

The role of sports instructors and collaborators is further affirmed in district and provincial-level sports tournaments, cultural and sports festivals in communes, wards, and towns during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year)... when this force, along with cultural and sports officials, participates in organizing, managing, or refereeing, contributing to improving the quality and professionalism of the tournaments. In addition, the team of sports collaborators actively seeks out, discovers, introduces, and sometimes even trains outstanding sports talents, contributing to their development.high-performance sports.
Recognizing the importance of sports collaborators, the Department of Culture and Sports annually organizes 1-2 professional training courses for grassroots sports officials and teachers in secondary schools, focusing on topics such as: knowledge of state management in the field of physical education and sports; rules of competition for some sports; methods of organizing competitions and refereeing in archery, stick pushing, tug-of-war, football, volleyball, badminton, etc.
It is noteworthy that, despite varying circumstances, conditions, fields of activity, and abilities, the majority of sports collaborators approach their work with passion and enthusiasm.
To date, there is no specific legal document regulating the remuneration for sports collaborators, and the financial support that sports agencies and units provide to this group for their participation in activities is entirely based on agreements and is not substantial. However, most of these collaborators are enthusiastic and dedicated to the activities. The development of sports in local areas in particular, and the province in general, owes a significant part to their contributions.
